In what way? In the past couple months Biden has delivered more coherence on the issues troubling the nation than anyone. He's still the same gaff machine he always was, but people aren't giving much credence to gaffs anymore.

I don’t know Ms Harris’ sexual past. I just know she’s not my pick.

Data shows that a VP pick doesn’t have significant impact, with the possible exception of in the VP’s home state, and even there the evidence is shaky.

The one thing a candidate can do is pick someone like Palin, who is clearly not ready to be president, and harm their chances.

The only real question anyone will be asking of Harris is “is she ready to take over the Presidency”? If she can clear that bar, which I believe she can, she will be a net positive for the campaign.

I think the point we're trying to make is that there's no actual evidence beyond rumours in the direction of slut, manipulator, or "good businesswoman sex". To insinuate it in any capacity is baseless.

Yeah, I think that this is ultimately one of the best reasons for going with a known quantity like Harris. She's been in the public spotlight enough that public opinion is already relatively settled on her, where as a lot of the other shortlist picks hadn't been in the national spotlight much and there's no guarantee that they would have played really well.

I read something about Biden and Harris as both being 'barometers' and I think that's a good analogy. Both are more reactive to where public opinion and Democratic sentiment is, rather than ideologues who have a particular agenda they're trying to put forward. Biden's platform is considerably more progressive than the reputations of either Biden or Harris, so if Trump wants to effectively brand them as radicals, he needs to get into policy details, which he's woeful at. Pointing at Biden and Harris and screaming 'Antifa!' is unlikely to work.
