We have to have one of the worst shot attempts/goal rates in the league. I get that the front of the net is clogged up alot in the NHL, but we also constantly miss the net.

I don't think it's fair to blame all out players struggling offensively on Ward. It's not like Gio was playing great this year before Peters was fired.

To Sams credit, he made a hit and won a puck battle behind the net, which created a chance and kept possession, a play that Backlund wouldn’t have been anywhere near.

Now, Ward has done what he can, but he changed the culture and got the resultant bump as far as he can.

For better or worse, the players on this team in the core need that disciplinarian. Is that Gallant or Laviolette I don’t know, but BT needs a plan and I don’t think can wait until the offseason to hire the next coach.

Laviolette is a hard ass from what i understand...really not sure about Gallant though.

Doubt either guy will come to Calgary though with the Seattle job still looming.

Also Gallant to Detroit just seems to natural if he doesnt get the Seattle job.

This is not a younger core anymore. They've been to the playoffs several seasons, and the core consist of players that are middle age, and older.

This core has shown what they're capable of. Some players are still growing, but others are in their peak, or post apex.
