Because he doesnt put up points like he is supposed to. I still think hes the victim of some terrible line making. Never gets an extended look at the top six. Always spot duty and is moved during games. Same with his stints at center. Never there long enough to gain traction. Such a polarizing player.

Love him to death and shouldn't be traded. But I understand the trade him side as well.

Can't win if you can't score though. This is the Flames. The goal differential of this team is reflective of what the team truly is.

This team is infuriating. They’ve been shutout more than any other team in the league which they’ve rightfully deserved in those efforts. They finally come out to play after an emotional win and they make a backup goaltender look like all-world.

It’s 17-18 all over again. They’re losing to teams they can’t afford to lose against because they have no natural finishing ability. They’re a bottom 5 team in goals per game and it’s a justified position. Pathetic display of execution.

Tough to say, I think we need a bit more. Like any team they aren’t until they do. I think this team needs something that isn’t “already in the room” to win a cup. But right now the vibe on here this season has less to do with thus team not being good enough, and more to do with the fans struggling to live with the ups and downs of a younger core, struggling to accept the fact that in this new parity NHL things are always tight and just making the playoffs makes you a good team.

This team still needs work, but they are closer than most on here think and the bigger issue is the fan bases inability to deal with the Flames not being free and clear on a spot at this point when very few teams in the NHL are.

As far as coaches, BT realized he needed a hard ass after x and o GG failed in the motivation area.

He got that in Peters. Peter would be the coach for a few years if he was still here.
Now, Ward has done what he can, but he changed the culture and got the resultant bump as far as he can.

For better or worse, the players on this team in the core need that disciplinarian. Is that Gallant or Laviolette I don’t know, but BT needs a plan and I don’t think can wait until the offseason to hire the next coach.

They are not unlucky to have 0 goals. They have not worked for one. Ottawa got goals by going to the net. Do they deserve 3-0 lead? No, but they deserve to not be losing cause they are facing a team with no heartbeat.

Your words, not mine.

It means making a trade or two.....thats actually a thing GM's do at all times of the year.

There are a bunch of guys that could be moved, doesnt mean all of them.

Bennett, Hamonic, Brodie, Stone, Jankowski, etc...all guys who should and could be used to upgrade the club.

Status quo sure as hell isn't going to cut it, that's for sure.

The GM's job is to assemble a team that wins enough to get into the playoffs. This club is in a dog fight to do just that, so his mandate is to push them over the top to do so.

Core guys can be dealt with at the draft, but there are lots of areas they can get improved on that doesnt include them.
