Gonna predict what happens in the 3rd we play like s### until the last 5 minutes but man do we ever turn it up for that final 5 minutes and we lose 3 to 2 but we almost tied it had we not missed the net with 2 seconds left. Leaving the fan base frustrated yet again

I've noticed one thing about Wards system that bugs me. When we have the puck in the attacking zones corner, quite often we have one winger on the half wall and one behind the net.
There is no one in any dangerous scoring positions, it's pretty frustrating to watch.

Gotta make a trade to bring in a top 6 forward. And players that are involved, and work in the middle to get the gritty goals.
Team doesn't work to get the puck into the danger zones regularly, thus why they never score.

Don’t get me wrong, this game is highlighting some deficiencies on offence, but some the narrative on here is embarrassing, makes me feel like half of this site isn’t even watching, just reacting to NHL app. updates.

Dominant first yes
But they weren’t good in that second

Controlling play but unable to score isn't good enough.
The team is 5th last in GF/game. That's really, really bad.

Only one goal in Toronto.
Offence is broken and a bunch of semi-dangerous (but not really) shots isn’t going to fix it.

On the topic of Gaudreau, his hearts not in it. We have seen him play enough to know this is the case. Just not there.
Should he be traded? Maybe, maybe not. But you have to explore options. Because this hasnt been Johnny at all. Not even close, by a long shot.

Do you think this core is good enough to win a cup?

After this performace Inam starting to drift into the group that says this team needs a major shake up by trading a core player, who that is I don't know but they need a good kick up the rear.
I also think we need to look at one of the available top coaches, the new coach bounce is gone and we have returned to a lazy club.

I've said it before, its a %^&*ing country club atmosphere in that dressing room where mediocrity is totally acceptable.
I really hope this game tips the scales for management, but I have my doubts.

They just dont care enough, are not focused for looong periods of time, and clearly don't wish to do the work to change things.
Maybe yet another coach gives them a bounce, but this is a personnel issue way more than anything else.
Coach after coach after coach says as much.

What?
Deadline deals are a terrible idea, typically extremely expensive and rarely result in playoff success.
No GM in their right mind is going to blow up a team battling for the division in January.

I don’t want to trade any futures to try and save this season
The problems run deeper and are best addressed in the off-season

This right here! That is why I want to keep all the picks and not bring in a rental to get bounced out in the first round. Treliving is going to have his most important Flames Offseason coming up.

They settle for the perimeter far too much, and their breakouts are often not good enough to generate off the rush.
I think we need a new head coach, and a notable skill bump in the top six. Mangiapane and Backlund and top six wingers aren’t good enough to push this team higher.
I don’t think they can address everything that needs to be done in-season though. It’s a bummer.

Yup, the pacific is so tight you can be put of the race in a week. Be back into it the next week. I want Treliving to make moves but that 1st doesnt go unless it lotto protected and for a young player under control for a few years. Even then I'd be hesitant.

I'm watching, but I'm not gonna give the Sens any credit. The Flames are not skating, showing zero effort or interest as a whole and missing shots. This isn't something new, and no, it's not because the Sens are any good. They are trying, but no where near the talent level of us. This is 100% on our boys.

Would not be unhappy if this was the last game in a Flames uniform for Bennett, Backlund, Gaudreau, Jankowski etc.
