I hope you aren't alone at that game...
Over/under "F off": 15.5
Over/under number of beers "spilled" on you: 6.5
I'll take the over on both lol.

Kassian assaulted Chucky because Chucky played hockey against him. He also said he’d do it again. In any other situation, Kassian would be looking at criminal charges.
I’m not saying that I want to see that, I’m just pointing out the obvious.
The NHL has to provide a deterrent against this otherwise this will spiral out of their control.

Remember when Lucic rocked Gio last year with a clean open ice hit in the offensive zone? Probably not, because Gio didn't get up and have a psychotic break afterwards. He just went about his business and kept playing. Flames won that game as well btw

Footage has already been released of his reaction when the league tried to explain it to him....

I'm actually disgusted with these old pro's that seem to be ok with the horse collar and punches thrown at a vulnerable player. I think they've lost perspective here.

I found it pretty incredible that anyone thought Scottie Upshall had a relevant opinion on anything, but here we are.

I imagine most of them have kids about Tkachuk's age. I wonder how'd they'd feel if it was their family member getting needlessly assaulted by a psychotic moron.

I'm still waiting to hear the perspectives from Oiler alum Esa Tikkanen and Ken Linseman.

Not sure if it was mentioned on here, but Ken Campbell at the Hockey News, had a pretty good and funny story about the hit and overreaction.

I want Kassian playing in the next BOA, so I hope that it's 2 games.

The people in Edmonton are salty today. They keep talking about how Kassian needs to run Gaudreau so that Tkachuck will stop hitting him. I think most of these people were set up to fail a few thousand years back when Apes lost a bet to Man around which species has to form the superior species and develop society, and which one gets to live in the jungle and eat Banana's.

It's the only way for many of these old players to stay relevant, by telling the "back in my day" stories.
The reality is Kassian can dish it out but not take it. If someone gets the better of him at the hockey part of hockey then he needs to fight to show how tough he is. Let's see if he wants to fight Lucic, but my guess is he doesn't. Bennet blew him up last year and hey fought, because Bennett isn't a heavyweight.
Typical bully behaviour.
I mean, if Tkachuk was going after Yamamoto or McDavid then at least Kassian could say he's trying to protect them and draw Tkachuk's attention away. Instead Tkachuk went right after their goon and totally destroyed him.

Old school frame of mind doesn't necessarily equate to the rational one today.
Completely different game those guys are coming from.
Just like the questionable beliefs our parents/grandparents were taught and immersed in in their younger days that simply will not fly in today's world but they sometimes will speak up with conviction when confronted with the topic because "well that's the way it was"
Sorry, but assaulting a guy down on the ice and punching the crown of his head isn't justified by anything done within the confines of the rules (the guy's likability aside). Even if that was commonplace in the 80s and 90s.
Looks bad on guys like Teemu Selanne for singing Kassian's praises. Wish he said nothing. Does he tell his kids that making kind of retaliation when they get hit is okay? Not good.

ZACK KASSIAN HAS DOLED OUT 1,067 HITS DURING HIS CAREER, BUT CAN’T SEEM TO HANDLE TAKING ONE
The Edmonton Oilers winger believed Matthew Tkachuk should have answered the bell for a hit he threw in Saturday's Battle of Alberta, and nothing will remove hitting from the game faster than the supposed need for every big bodycheck to be followed by a fight.

James Neal talking about respect.
Link
Like how you respected the game by pouting in the corner and stealing $5.75M from an NHL team last year?
The Oilers are the biggest babies out there, my goodness. I'm pretty happy we have Lucic and Rinaldo on the team going into the next BoA.
"He did it three times" - yes, he legally checked Kassian 3 times. That difficult to swallow? Good grief you loser. I've never seen so much complaining about clean body checks.

*EDIT* Oh my god. He is SO triggered by all of this. Stauffer just now complained about Andersson's comments, and brought up an altercation from the 2016 Penticton Rookie Tournament in which Darnell Nurse attacked him. Good Lord.

Ha ha. Just heard that. What a riot!
