I also don't see this as a hug loss for the CP. They gained a lot of seats and can be a strong opposition. Trudeau is going to need them to get some things and I am sure they will use that to their benefit.

Almost no chance this means another election. a very strong minority with 3-4 opposition parties to play off each other. The Bloc is sitting near their max reachable seats. The NDP has shaky leadership, and even the conservatives have some belly gazing to do, all 3 of those parties will have to wonder if they are better off using the Liberals minority status to get concessions.

This government has a much much better chance than I would have expected to stand for 4 years.

Personal opinions aside must say the fact we are even discussing gay marriage is exactly the conservatives problem...Why? Why take a stance like this on social issues? All you do is alienate a large segment of the population and for what? Its not like strong social conservatives are gonna vote for someone else.
