Ok, but is the analogy not apt? The party and platform most align with my values. They have made mistakes. They need to be better. I believe they can be and they represent the best path forward according to my personal ideologies.

Do you think those people shouldn’t be able to get married? Because if you do, think for a moment about how it literally doesn’t affect you at all, and reflect on the fact that yes.. you are indeed a bad person. You think you’re better than them and should be able to have more rights and freedoms than them because you don’t like the idea of a guy having sex with another guy. Get over yourself and grow up.

Would you vote for someone who believed that interracial marriage was despicable and an affront to his God? Even if he never was going to fight publicly to ban interracial marriage?
Maybe people just don't feel comfortable voting for self-proclaimed bigots. At least the whole blackface thing had Trudeau apologize for mistakes made 20 years ago. Scheer was clear that he wasn't apologizing for his archaic beliefs.
