It seems like Ryan Lomberg has come in second on several polls in a row.

Lomberg once again for me. Guess I'll be voting for him the next few rounds as well.

Same people voting for him. Everybody else voting for potential probably.

Watch Lomberg win the Art Ross, Rocket Richard, and Selke next year. We will see about potential then.

Yeah, there's people who are voting for Lomberg because he will be more likley to see the NHL. And there's people who won't vote for him because spot duty is all he'll ever see. He isn't second on those posters' lists.

I've looked at Lomberg for the last 4 rounds and thought to myself "maybe next round" but each day I just cant do it. He may have the most NHL experience on the list but I just cant convince myself he'll see the NHL again.

To me, Lomberg isn't even really a prospect. He is AHL depth that can be called up in a pinch to play 4-5 minutes on the 4th line.

That tends to happen when you are looking at your pool of 20 odd players

Lomberg has speed/tenacity, but unfortunately, I just don't think he's big enough to be effective to play his role on the 4th line of an NHL team.

I had been voting for Nodler for a while, but have found myself switching to Schneider, as he had a pretty decent year....

I've voted Lomberg the last 8 rounds.

He could easily be the new Jooris Hathaway story.

Putting up solid numbers in the AHL, when talking about potential nobody knows what his ceiling is.

Plays with passion, grit, a 200 foot game, never takes a shift off and is fearless. Something this team needs much more of.

Every good team needs good foot soldiers. Hes a great story and proven his detractors wrong at every level.

I believe in Lomberg.

I voted Foo in this round - he has been inconsistent in his NHL showings, but at least he did show some flash at times. No idea what the KHL is going to do for him.

However, I have Foo, Schneider and Nodler - maybe Philp as well - as guys who are all at the same spot for me.

Sample size is rough ... he was a 20%CF player last year so I expanded it three years and it doesn't get much better (35% in 69 minutes of play).

The guy just doesn't seem to be able to play a five on five shift at the NHL level. He's down with the Klimchuks and Shinkaruks and Rychels at the bottom.

Last year he seemed to be the only winger that could drag Derek Ryan down with him.

By the time Foo's KHL contract is done, he won't be Flames property any longer. If he ever comes back to North America, it will be as a free agent.

Of course, McKenna isn't Flames property at all, so his inclusion on the list is even more suspect.

I gave the nod to Nodler. I'll probably finally move to Lomberg after this.

Didn't Schneider have a bit of a comeback in the AHL last year?
His numbers look good, do people think he's likely to turn back into a pumpkin?

11 games is a pretty small sample size, although he did do well. His results in 21 ECHL games are much less impressive.

I thought the whole reason the Flames qualified Foo was that they would essentially retain his rights in the event he comes back. I am pretty sure he will still be Flames property when/if he returns.

They had done this with Linden Vey too I think.

Jeremy McKenna
Whether he should be on the list is debatable, but I'm voting based on the players that appear on the list.

One dimensional goal scorer but scoring goals is the most difficult skill in hockey. Excellent at getting open and finding gaps in coverage which allows him to get his hard and accurate shot off. Also terrific on the powerplay. But, his defensive shortcomings significantly reduce his probability of success. Hockey is full of junior snipers who didn't pan out, but there are a few who have turned into mighty good scorers. Over 5 shots per game is insane.

Ceiling: 2nd line W
Probable: Tweener
Floor: Outright bust

After McKenna I don't see anyone else as having anything more than a remote probability of playing above the third line. While McKenna has higher likelihood of busting than some others, his ceiling remains the highest. In other words, his error bar carries more variability.

This is the point in voting where ceiling, to me, starts to give way to playing any games at all in importance. This is also the point where prospects can make big gains or losses in a one-year period of time.
