Anyone posting any other posts in this thread please verify your level of play prior to posting
I think minimum a league winners medal from a top european league should be needed at most
If anyone here hasnt played in a champions league final though your opinion doesn't matter

Enjoy watching players begin to intentionally kick balls at arms, it’s going to be fun. The handball rule was never meant as a way for referees to micromanage the game through VAR. I look forward to seeing how consistent UEFA handball rulings are as the competition progresses. I’m sure they will be very consistent
The anti-psg hate in this thread is amusing, considering most people who post in here are fans of teams that have been spending absurd amounts of cash far before PSG came into the picture.

what exactly is amusing here? PSG is backed by a state that ####s on human rights and they just pump money into it to buy their way to the top while trying to circumvent FFP etc at every corner. Do you really wonder why most football fans don't care for them and City? Those are shady state-backed products. "Other clubs spend a lot of money too" is such a weak argument.

United missed 10 senior players through injury and suspension. They had 5 teenagers on the bench and played a midfield of McTominay, Fred and Pereira. Having a 2-0 cushion from the first leg and still losing to that weakened United team is hilarious.

in any case, he'll have a suspension coming his way for this comments and rightly so.

That’s fair. Not speaking to your ethnicity — I should have included an “of”, in my previous comment.

You’ve played in the Champions League round of 16?

Shhh Devo. Considering the similar squad United fielded a week and a half ago, under also similar high pressure circumstances for that opponent, I have a tax meeting with Locke this afternoon.
I do appreciate his services but you’re not helping me at all.

This is the time to meet with Locke. They're still in the CL and their league chances haven't "slipped away" quite yet. If you were there in a week or two then you might have a poorer outcome!

Beninho: Careful questioning the order of things in the footballing world. It was ok for Man U and other old clubs to be rich and powerful and throw their weight around to dominate before. It is NOT ok for clubs like PSG and City to now also spend money because... reasons.

I'm not really anti-PSG or anything, they're just pretty clearly Europe's biggest chokers. Even when the draw was first made and United still had Mourinho as manager I said I thought United had a real chance because Mourinho could produce a bus masterclass and PSG would just choke. How many times do we have to see PSG blow great chances to make a run? And we're not even talking winning or making the final, just getting past the R16 or QF, which they haven't done despite the insane spending.
Man City and PSG can spend like drunken sailors for all I care, they still need to win the CL to truly validate their spending, although at least Man City has won a league worth a damn. PSG are basically irrelevant outside CL.

I didnt watch the game but I've seen the replay.
I have to say, I kind of have to agree that thats a penalty.
The player jumped to block the shot, he turned his back (which is a huge error) but at the end of the day his intent was to block the shot and he did so with an outstretched arm.
I'd be inclined to give it.

City spends a lot but it's not like their payroll is so far beyond everyone else. United spends more than they do for instance.

No I’m not a PSG fan, I don’t cheer for a team in Europe, mostly just follow Brazilian players than anything else. I don’t think that penalty is ever given without VAR, I think it’s incredibly harsh and leads football down the road of all ball to arm or hand as penalties, unless your arm is tucked into your body, but this isn’t exactly a natural position either. This is why I question wether some of you have played the sport, it is not natural to defend with your arms tucked in under your armpits. His arm was in a natural position. Once you go down the path of being strict with the handball rule the worse it will be. Just wait
Yes and I’m sure all of the Asian and Arab money that has flooded the pockets of a plethora of other top teams is real clean as well. I’m no fan of Qatar either but you are naive to believe that they are the only football financiers who capitalize on exploiting a country.
Fred and Pereira are both word class, I don’t know what you are talking about
Outside of my disdain for the handball decision it was great to see Fred justify his worth to Man U, always have been a big fan. Thought he had a terrific performance

Sweet Jebus. It has nothing to do with whether or you are a self proclaimed cyber soccer star or not.
It is, by the rules a penalty.
Is it harsh? Yes? Should the rule be changed? Probably. Will the replacement rule be much better? Probably not?
I don't give a fata whether it would be given by Var or not. The fact is Var is part of the game now, like it or not.
You quoted Rio and that Liverpool ambassador fella that went to United to win medals as not liking the call but ignore that they debated it with an official who clarified it for them that by rule of law it's a penalty.
Don't like it and want to go all Neymar about it? Sure. But the fact remains, harsh as it was, it was by interpretation of the laws the correct call.

Fred is not world class. He's shown difficulty with the harder, English game. He was a mistake purchase. Like most of United's major purchases since the departure of Gill.
Rio is a terrible football analyst. Before you can even take in his insights being bush league, you have to actually understand him -- sounds like he has marbles in his mouth.

You could say the same of most people born and raised in the 'hoods of South London.
