Last time I looked Neal had 300% more goals this season.
He also costs less.

They are both looking like awful signings at the moment. Perhaps there is more hope for Neal to rebound as that is the only positive I can think of.

If he wasn’t doing all that stuff and was paid 5.75 million for the singular role of being a sniper and scoring goals, I’d imagine folks would be pretty upset right now.

Technically. It does ignore having to buy out Brouwer. Which honestly just depresses me. We swapped out a boat anchor for a bigger one and then still had to keep some of the old one around for longer than planned.
Like I said the only optimism I really have is that Neal can still rebound. Because otherwise the Neal/Brouwer dead money is really going to make it harder for Teliving to improve the team down the road.

I’ll think you’ll find the majority of my posts this weekend havent been about Neal.
Anyway, back on topic. The point of my post was that when other players struggle you can see them try other things to contribute.
- Bennett (who is second place on my #### list) punches someone in the face when he’s not scoring.
- Jankowski at least kills penalties when he’s not scoring.
- Chucky draws penalties when he’s not scoring.
- Derek Ryan wins 56% of defensive end face offs when he is not scoring.
...wtf does Neal do when he’s not scoring?

Technically? How else do you assess "scored more goals"? Anyway the point was that Lucic is in no way, shape or form superior to Neal. Lucic has fewer goals, more pms, costs more, can't be moved at all, can't even be bought out with much degree of effectiveness.
And you are right, Neal has better upside.

I wonder if Chia would trade Lucic+Puljujujujuivviviaria for Neal
With he the rate he's goin, it's worth a shot.

Well, the cap hits are basically a wash.
Flames could use some more physicality. Lucic-Ryan-Hathaway would be a good physical 4th line.
Oilers need scoring. I'm sure Neal would start putting the puck in the net with McDavid driving the line, hell, look at Chaison.
Flames get a nice prospect who we might be able to turn around.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Puljujarvi
Bennett-Jankowski-Frolik
Lucic-Ryan-Hathaway

This could blow up in our faces. Neal has a lack of chemistry here but I feel like he could still regain form some where else or with different players. I wouldn't chance this with the Oilers.

Jankowski kills penalties while he IS scoring.

If you don't think he's going to cut it here, there's no point in wasting the roster spot and the lineup spot.
You can't worry about if he'll pick it up somewhere else.

Are you at all worried that Lucic has 175 percent more assists and 14 percent more points? Is it possible that Neal is only a prolific goal scorer but lacks the all-around offensive game of a Milan Lucic?

What does seeing him out with teammates have to do with what fans you talk to say about him?

Because everyone was looking their way all night obviously and everyone was laughing about how brutal Neal is.
