My reply to this has already been posted by others so I won't beat a dead horse.

But what do you understand about the locker room that you assume I don't?

As an older guy on this board I grew up playing "code" hockey, I get it...I just don't agree with your take.

So now people want to get retribution for the retribution? I mean, Hamonic fighting Gudbranson was already payback for the hit on Dube. He got beat in the fight, and now people want to avenge that as well? If Prout fights Gudbranson and loses do we have to fight his yet again?...

It's not like Gudbranson instigated a fight with Hamonic, if anything it was the other way around.

To me this is case closed-
1. Gudbranson makes questionable hit on Dube
2. Hamonic fights Gudbranson, sending a message.

... the end. The result of the fight is fairly inconsequential IMO. The message was sent.

I have a feeling this gets settled early after the opening whistle.

If Prout is the #7, does the mean Andersson will sit in the pressbox until Hamonic is healed? Rather Andersson stayed in the AHL if that's the case

It was a bad hit but not a vicious one, more a consequence of Gudbransson not being a very good player and probably misreading the play.

Hamonic already answered the bell, time to move on.

Probably not. As was noted before, over the past couple of years the Flames seem to call up somebody to replace an injured player on the roster. However, for the 1st game the call-up usually sits in the press box and a player who was already on the roster gets to play in at least the 1st game without the injured player. The call-up will usually play, eventually.

Well we have a different coaching staff than last year and Peters just said that Prout was the #7. I had assumed that Andersson was the #7 and was just sent to the AHL to get games in.

Yes Andersson will stay around. You always need an extra around. If the #7 is playing, you need #8 to be there.

In IT terms, having a #7 is failover, having a #8 is high availability.

To be fair Prout has over 250 games of nhl experience before his injury troubles. He’s not the goon some are making him out to be. Based on what I saw in preseason he’s not a big step down from Stone

That's false. Stone is more physical than Hamilton.. Not in the face punching way or the huge open ice hit way. But Stone is a lot more physical along the boards and in front of the net than Hamilton.

Prout is even more physical from what I’ve seen

I think Prout is going to surprise us all in a good way.

Why do you cheer for this team?

Actually, perhaps that's a loaded question -- clearly, you don't.
