People are really gonna lose it when Prout doesn't play on Saturday. I expect a fire Peters thread

If it's actually a broken jaw, he'll likely have some struggles maintaining his weight and energy over the next few weeks. He will certainly miss a beat.

You know the other way to set the tone of the game early? Get the early lead! Play good hockey. You know who can help? A young skilled defenseman, not a guy who is in the lineup only to fight

This isn't a jab at Rasmus but I thought Prout was a much steadier dman in camp. I personally don't think his skating is good enough for the NHL right now. He got caught flat footed too many times to count.

Play prout and let Andersson watch the game from the box.
I'd rather Valamaki gets one more game under him before throwing in another rookie. Gives Peters more information to decide o. Whether or not he wants to pair Andersson wtih hannifin or valamaki.

I know it is a lot to hope, but the best outcome of this would be for Andersson to cement himself on the second pairing, and then when Hamonic returns to be able to swap them both between the second and third.

The opposite IMO. If Peters plays Prout I would be disappointed (not calling for him to be fired lol). This Flames team is built to try and outscore opponents not beat them up.

Other Devil's advocate: Isn't Stone supposed to be hitting people?
Ignoring fighting, I'll take whichever guy is going to play a more punishing game Saturday

Should be:
Hanifin - Stone
Valimaki - Prout
Rasmus sits this one out until the Flames go on the road.

In case you forgot Sam Bennett is one tough customer and can definitely fight my vote would be for him to take care of fighting duties.

Stone led all Flames dmen in hits last year. He is hitting people.

Based on what we're seeing at practice today, looks like #Flames D Dalton Prout will be in action Saturday. He's working with Valimaki. Stone with Hanifin. Andersson operating as extra.

Yup, so unless that's the game Prout is bringing I'd like to see more of Stone Saturday if anything

They can dress that roster right?
If so, that's probably the smartest way to play with what we have. Andersson if Vancouver is playing small, and Prout if they're playing tall?

That being said, there has been some rotation happening. So not for certain that Andersson is not in.

I just checked the game sheet, and am surprised to see that Hanifin led the Flames defensemen with four hits. Giordano the only other blue liner to register a hit. This is probably a result of the fact that the Flames pretty much had the puck for the entire game.

Hamonic is out week to week.
Give Prout his game, and then let Andersson play the next 2/3.
