I’m all for ####ting on the Flames talent development, but Bennett has been given chance after chance. He’s a bust. He just didn’t pan out. I don’t think the Flames can be blamed for that. He’s a player that dominated junior based on superior strength and skill. Everyone has that in the NHL and he seems to lack tha hockey IQ to be anything more than a bottom 6 player.

I'm willing to wait and see if that was just a result of so much powerplay time. It really through off the rythym of rolling four lines. If that was ever really a plan. We will see next game, I guess.

What goal are you blaming on Smith?

Giordano looked slow all.game. I'm blaming the first goal and the 4th goal on Smith. Considering he's the goalie I will.also blame the 2nd and 3rd in him also.

As long as Prout or Peluso can take a regular shift and not be a detriment, they should be dressing one of them.

It's not Sam Bennett's fault that we suck...crack's me right up, there's plenty of blame to go around.

The pushback is because of the Bennett fanboy that says he was awesome every game. He was meh, like many others.

All of the Flames' own first round picks since 2009 are in the NHL. I'm not sure if this is the problem.
The Flames are definitely bad at developing goaltenders, but the same can't be said for forwards.
Bennett has had a lot of opportunities in the last 4 years. Compare him to Gaudreau, who forced his way onto the top line during his rookie season.

No excuses this season.
Smith lost the goalie battle.
Flames lost the special teams battle horrifically.
Flames possessed the puck and did nothing with it.
They deserved to lose, and they lost.

Shh, they'll ban you. Like they banned me for saying the Ducks were the better team when they swept us.

Their goalie played better than ours.
Their special teams were better than ours.
You can’t win in the NHL when these two things happen. I suspect the advanced stats will favor the Flames but it’s irrelevant when the above two things happen.
Those two things can turn around Saturday.

Once the power play has gone 0-4, that line should of been the power play.

Just for fun, Lindholm's 4 minuses came from:
1) Covering his guy while the other 4 flames screw up their coverage and leave Goldobin open
2) Making a nice defensive play to take away a pass to Granlund, only for the other 2 forwards to overskate the puck and Valimaki to leave the net uncovered.
3) Winning a puck battle behind the net, giving it to Monahan who promptly turns it over
4) Being on the ice when Gaudreau turns the puck over for the empty netter
Lindholm wasn't to blame for any of the 4. He was solid backchecking early and had a few decent zone entries while Gaudreau and Monahan were asleep at the wheel in the first 40.

Anyone who judges a player based on +/- is a nut. Now it all makes sense with this crazy Bennett talks lol

The only positive I drew from that performance was Valimaki. Thought he played a really good game and certainly looked like he belonged. It’s crazy how much better he has looked since his first pre season game. A couple pre season games in, I thought he looked destined for the AHL for at least a season, but did he ever improve since then.

Bennett Janko and Dube didn't see the ice enough for a proper assessment, can't put any blame game on 9 minutes of ice time.
This one is on the powerplay, killed our momentum entirely.
Lindholm and Czarnik were contributing positively, great puck possession and decision making especially for Lindholm, he just seems to have a slick confidence in his puck control and playmaking ability.
Dube and Valimaki were great, you notice both when they're out there almost immediately. Valimaki made some great passes, especially the one to spring Dube on the breakaway, and he almost had a beautiful one timer goal in the third there by the faceoff circle. Really excited about those two.
Monahan and Gaudreau didn't lead this team. Gaudreau started making real plays towards the end when he began being his elusive self and walking the Canucks D. Has to continue to be himself in all game situations instead of forcing passes.
Overall not impressed but I have a good feeling they will be merciless on Saturday against a Canucks team that was opportunistic and undisciplined.
