Weird situation here where it is almost the exact opposite. It’s a lose lose lose situation.

Just as a fun tidbit of information, this morning CMLC released an RFP for a Public Engagement Program for a 'Potential Bid for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games'. Who knows, there could be arena content involved in that particular pursuit.

Maybe the other parties shouldn't do things that make people want to protest vote in the first place...

Yeah... it's only really a protest vote if you ignore the fact that Wynne's liberals have some notable dirty dealings (the PPP agreement has already led to an arrest on her team for Bribery) and Doug Ford and campaign seems like a total mess (do I really need to expand on this?), not to mention the ongoing, and very real accusations of vote fixing in the conservative leadership race. It's a perfect storm for an NDP victory to be honest- if Mulroney had won the con leadership race this wouldn't even be a discussion, but since cheeto jr is giving people pause there's a real chance the relative obscurity of Horwath will result in her eeking out a victory.
It really is "le mess"

I've learned over the years what you read in the media you have to read with an open mind as you're only getting the information they want to give you. How many pre-election polls for have been wrong in the last few years?

Or people should just vote based on the actual platform that is being campaigned on? When will people finally learn that voting blindly for any given party is stupid?
For the record, I used to be very PC, but over the years I just vote for the actual party that is campaigning for the changes that I actually want to see in Canada. They get my vote. Besides, both the Liberals and Conservatives have done outrageously irresponsible crap anyway. No party deserves a blind vote. Make each party earn it. If it happens to be the NDP, then so be it. People think the social democrats are like the communist party here, and I think it comes from our schooling. It is the norm in most of the European nations with a higher standard of living, so it isn't like it is some evil red menace or something. LoL Earn the damn vote, and I will vote for you. Don't do what you promised during your campaign, or do something completely stupid like embezzle funds, and you automatically lose my vote for the next election.

Came for some information on the arena issue.
Left with several lectures from political experts.
Satisfied.

Not gonna quote it, he either disingenuously or incompetently neglected to include, Hitmen/Roughnecks revenues as a huge incentive to the (Flames/CSEC).

And a good one.
Even if those teams made a tonne of money, which they don't ... it wouldn't really make for much of a go forward model.
"it's easy ... buy and NHL team and then buy up all the other teams in the city too to make sure you break even!"

I’m with the people in this report who said the financials aren’t that informative.
I believe the Hitmen can make money considering no player salaries and a sweetheart lease. Is it enough to matter in the arena debacle? I don’t imagine so.

LOL, at that report and those losses.
Twice the reported loss, of the Kootenay dismal-attendance-problems Ice, and without an anchor tenant.

I assume there is some kind of revenue sharing incentive to keep the revenues in the arena corp rather than the hitmen corp
