Smith was unreal tonight. I thought Brouwer, Stajan, Bennett, hamonic, Giordano all had very strong games.

I do think the flames were pretty frigin meh... That oilers goal likely should have counted, and outside of the Hamilton chance, the flames did not generate much offensively in the latter half of the game.

Nice to beat the oilers, but....

Great win. The Flames needed that. Now for a reality check. The Flames beat the EDMONTON OILERS 1-0, and barely held on in doing so. Don’t get too high off this victory.

Forgot what Oiler fan butthurt inflicted by the Flames looked like (sad times).

Now I remember. And I like it.

I liked Stewart’s play tonight. I thought he made a lot of correct decisions with the puck on the forecheck. Guys like Hathaway and Lazar could learn a thing or two from him about putting the puck into soft areas and keeping the forecheck going instead of some Hail Mary, low percentage play that ends up going the other way.

The Flames played playoff hockey tonight. Good to see.

Hamonic was a beast. Anyone that thinks that trade wasn't worth it doesn't understand defense.

Who cares, we won. We needed the 2 points, we got them and move on.

It was at home.

Baby steps. They worked very hard and got excellent goaltending with very good defense, for the most part.

An extra day off to get ready for a true 4 pointer. Versteeg probably back. Some bumps from tonight to heal, and Smith to get a bit closer to 100%.

Sharks play Oilers tomorrow.

Same!
Any guesses guys?
I'm going to guess we see lots of
-waaaaa they touched McDavid
-Without Smith Oilers would win (while ignoring the fact they're the biggest one man team and every team relies on its starter)
-refs letting everything go
-Flames better settle down or lucoc/kassian will have a pillow fight with them

This.
Given how fragile the Flames can be...a win like this could be a huge boost.

PS...Props to SN for throwing on the Kings game unscheduled

what on earth are you talking about...he pushed Smith's pad into the net. It was textbook, Kassian was even trying not to laugh when talking to the ref. They had a TV timeout to look at it but still didn't challenge.

NOT A CHANCE THAT'S A GOAL

Im eating crow. Wasn’t happy to see the bottom six on paper but I was impressed at their play tonight. Ragin Stajan with a solid game!

LOL take it easy.

Smith stole the game against a bottom of the league team. It's great to beat the team's biggest rival but it's definitely not like we saw a team come out and play their best game of the year in the biggest game of the year.

Anyways, I'm not here to argue. Relieved to get the win just like everyone here.

On to the next one

He made some huge saves for sure, but when you steal a game it's usually when your team is badly outplayed and you didn't deserve the 2 points.

That wasn't the case tonight.
