I like this in Theory, but I think that there are too many moving pieces for it to work. As an example would the ban follow the player to his next team should he be traded? Could large suspensions be carried over for multiple seasons? What if the victim was also traded? Who is wronged, the player or the team?

That would suck if a brawl happened and multiple players were suspended and both teams decided to suspend players for the other team for multiple games. As a fan I would want to see as much of a full roster during lets say the next BOA

Seems like every game teams are getting more and more brazen with targeted infractions on our players. I’m worried it’s only a matter of time with Johnny getting hurt by it.
I’d love to call an enforcer up to deal with the odd time. God knows our 4th line is terrible anyways.

the suspension could stretch over multiple seasons; new contract in subsequent years could change the value of the fine; the player could be traded, so the new team bears the burden of the suspension; what if the suspended player is moved to the team the infraction occurred against?
to many issues

The refs who handeled the Detroit game last week or wte it was allowed it to spin out of control and terribly blew the final 8 mins giving the losing team a 5 min major that lead to a 5 on 3 and potential for it to spin even more out of control than it was already. It ties in to player safety IMO and the refs can negatively fuel the emotions of a game if they don’t do their job right.
This will never happen I know but this post does serve a valid point IMO more than the humour it was trying to convey.

They do.
It just isn't made public.
No idea what the severity or anything is/can be, but there is a review panel of some sort that will fine officials for not interpreting rules correctly.
Because there is no transparency I don't know if there is any way at all to see how, if at all, effective it is though.

I cannot believe I, of all people, am about to type the following.
Put Kerry in charge of NHL officiating. Have him set the mandate he speaks of in that article. Dead serious. I loathed him when he was active, but after reading no end of his articles and interviews, I have no choice but to admit to him having been one of the better refs to skate the NHL.

Unless the refs actually looked at a video clip and then called the minor before starting the play again, they can't be expected to see everything, so your condemnation of the refs is a little emotional to be honest.
Refs deserve some of the heat they get on some plays and missed calls when it's clear and obvious, but not all situations are the same.

Tkachuk holds no ill will towards Landeskog

A classy reply, Chucky. Very impressed with his maturity for a young 2nd year player.
