You should maybe try to evaluate issues on their intrinsic merits rather than automatically defaulting to the anti-establishment viewpoint. For one, doing so makes you no less a "sheep" than somehow who always defaults pro-establishment, and for another, the Establishment doesn't stay in power by being as comically incompetent as you theorize.

What if the place you get it is a old man who grows it to support his medical bills?

I'm just amazed that he thinks the government is going to be growing and selling their own "government brand" weed instead of doing exactly what the private stores will be doing. Why would it be any different than government-run liquor stores?

As someone who lives in Vancouver and has sampled most dispensaries here and have one 3 blocks from my house I would say that's not necessarily true.
In Calgary $60-$70 for 1/4 oz (7ish grams).
I would say $10/g is the average in the dispensaries. Each store tends to have a few strains that are $11-$14/g and a few that are $5-$9/g. The quality is not necessarily correlated with price as they go by the grower's prices. I've had crappy $14 strains and great $5 strains.
I have a phone app punch card where I get 20% off every 10th purchase. Of weed. They have periodic sales. On weed.
Most stores have deals of 5 joints for $20. There's a dispensary that does Twoonie Tuesdays where you can get a doobie for a $2.
I'm not really sure what my point is outside of it's pretty frickin cheap. And as an avid user, it's nice that I don't have to buy $120 worth of weed at once to make it economical. I can just walk to the store and get as much or as little as I want and I think I end up spending and smoking less overall because of it.

currently the only way to sell marijuana is to be a licsensed producer and distribute it by registrated delivery services to the prescribed patient. if your weed did not come by a delivery person with your name and doctor printed on it, its illegal weed.
people need to stop justifying supporting organized crime and get with the program.
and yes, even if you dont buy it from HA or whoever, you are still supporting organized crime because they control 99.99% of the illigal supply chain.

First off my compassion club is supplied by it's members and most of the concentrates and edibles are also made by members, so users not criminals.
I will never comply with marijuana laws I feel are unfounded, unjust and based on ideology rather than fact. The Canadian government is literally increasing all penalties associated with marijuana related offences and calling it legalization.

So, I'm not reading the last 78 pages (although I probably should) so excuse me if this has been asked already. I'm in Victoria and haven't smoked weed in about 15 years minus a once or twice one off. I found that if I drank and smoked up i'd be guaranteed puking that night, and frankly I found drinking more my 'social style' so I gave up the weed.
Fast forward to now. Drinking anything more than 3-4 drinks almost certainly gives me a hang over, and honestly, I simply don't enjoy drinking much anymore. I know people who smoke here, but I don't trust them enough to start buying weed from them anyways. Now I hear that vaporizers and other gadgets are the way to go anyways..
I deal with anxiety. I get pretty worked out and worry about stuff I probably should worry about. I haven't yet talked to a doctor about it (good luck finding one out here anyways), so I am not on any prescribed medicine (pills)
I also have discomfort with my stomach which is probably diet related (I'm not giving you up bread/dairy) but I highly doubt that's passing the Doctor's test for getting approved.
What steps do I need to see if weed is good for me?

Start low, go slow
Whether you choose a joint, vaporizer, or edibles, just have a little bit and wait and see how you feel. If you feel like you're under control, then have some more if you like. There's no need to overdo it and I would assume most people are past the point of "let's get as ####ed up as possible" and would just like a nice buzz, especially if they are an occasional user.
If you're taking edibles, wait at least an hour after consuming before having any more and try not to mix with alcohol. I would also recommend not drinking if you are smoking/vaping too as some people can handle it, but a lot of people don't like the effects of the combination.

I really only plan on smoking\taking\whatever it after a bad day at work or if I start feeling stressed out with the normal things from life. I got 2 young kids so I dont want them to see me doing anything and I dont want to be baked at all so I cant interact with them.
Honestly, I wont even do it if they are awake.

That's probably best. Maybe have your first trial run on a weekend night after the kids have gone to bed. Use a bit of whatever method you're going with and then see how you feel. Have an activity planned out to do while you're high if you're trying to de-stress. Personally if I'm just trying to chill, I usually watch some TV, listen to some music or maybe go for a walk. I have friends of mine who actually like to smoke a little weed and then do a workout as they are able to just focus on working out.

There's bound to be a medical clinic in Victoria that just deals with patients looking to get a marijuana prescription. There are at least 4 in Calgary I know about where you can get a free appointment within 2 weeks. You get a consult with a doctor who knows the system and can direct you to the best solution for your needs.
I use for anxiety and insomnia and those are legitimate reasons to get a script.
Farmacy dispensary does medical consults in vic for free

It’s still illegal. You are putting the old man at risk of losing his liscense too as by selling it, he is breaking the law
Not too mention you are getting no solection options. Why are you limiting yourself when the legal market has so much to offer?

my local source has a way better selection than any LP I've used, and I've generally found my LP's buds to be largely inferior.
I only use my LP to keep my prescription valid

if you say so, but the majority of people dont even know what a compassion club is. we should be promoting all responsible channels and perhaps compassion clubs are on that list.

Well, the Feds have to start high! I'd imagine they settle at 60/40 for the provinces.
Tax rate doesn't seem to bad. 10%. What is it on liquor, roughly?

The CPC definitely has their fingers on the pulse of the nation.
