No one is saying anything about the Calgary Stampede.

Also, MASH? come on, its 2017
 |
a. This means I'm not making a serious argument.

b. I mentioned the Stampede in my earlier post about what people know about Calgary and this was an example. If I had to prioritize, the Flames would be a lot lower. However, when I go to the US and strike up a conversation in a bar or casino, the Flames get mentioned a lot (that's probably a function of where I am though).

c. The Flames have been mentioned on a few TV shows. Is Homeland recent enough? Sorry but I can't find any mention on Game of Thrones.

You're on this site. That's already enough to refine searches.

Did you hold that same attitude when you were in NYC? Just wondering if your opinion meant less when it was my taxes paying for stuff and you were in a different country make your comments or this is a new attitude you have recently developed?

And on the flipside there are a bunch in this thread that dont live in Calgary that are sure willing to tell people how they shouldnt be spending their own tax money.

Honestly what would these be to the average tax payer?

Personally I spent $100 in gas two weeks ago to drive up to Edmonton for a show...I would gladly take the hit.

City is gonna piss our money away one way or another IMO

Haha sorry, I think the wink emoji on this site is terrible and hard to recognize.

I understand the argument, I'm just not convinced that it justifies the dollar figure.

Good for you. Should a family of four lacking the interest or disposable income in the Flames and/or concerts also be subsidizing your entertainment?

And just what do you estimate the financial impact to this group to be? Since you seem to want exact, provable numbers for every argument made in here. Is it $5/year? $10/year?

Juvenile insults aside, tell me what you know about Guangzhou, China.

Where is the first place you are going to go to look for information? Is it on your computer and does it rhyme with noodle?

Which is more reliable? The anecdotal evidence from Cappy, or the most powerful search engine in the world?

Point made? Move along.

What would the impact to the Flames be to just go a little further than the likely 30% ticket cost increase and the ticket tax and just do pay for it on their own?

$5 more a ticket? $10 more a ticket?
