It's a ridiculous statement. That's like me saying it rains less often in Vancouver, then some would like to believe.

Here's why comparing the Scandinavian countries is cherry picking. You are talking about small in both size population and ethnically homogeneous. It didn't have the same social issues to deal with like a country like Canada. We got large populations of First Nations, Quebecois and other Northern European cultures. There's also things like not being involved in ww2 (Sweden). I could go on and on. Most Countries have different historical circumstances that make these comparisons pointless.

Right, so just as I said then. When socialism fails, it's because of socialism. When capitalism fails, it's because of other underlying circumstances.

Where has Capitalism failed?

So if it's a hard comparison to make, then why do you keep asserting it as if it's an objective truth.? You've clearly made the comparison based on something but you can't tell me what that something is, other than that the Soviet-style socialism was a massive failure, and even that is a very basic and ahistorical perspective.

I'm not, I'm saying that Socialism for the most part will always fail given enough time. You can Cherry pick the Scandinavian countries to try to prove your point but it's not a good comparison. A big part of why the US is the richest country the world has ever seen is because of small government and the principles of free market capitalism, that is just a fact and so I guess you can call that an objective truth.

Who in their right mind can say Soviet-style Socialism was anything other then a complete catastrophe and blemish on human history? How many millions of people have to die before you can admit this idea of a collectivist utopia is a bad one.
Wait, is anyone anywhere advocating for "Soviet-style" socialism? Or are you just arguing against yourself?

Those socialist bastards.
And Monaco tops the list. Notice I said how many.

9 million people compared to 330 million or whatever the US currently is.

Speaking of CNN, watching them melt in this meme war has been highly entertaining.

One of my favourites.

Not even protests can stop the power of pizza.

That’s what you call a good work ethic!
During the G20 protests in Hamburg on Thursday, it was not just the left-wing demonstrators attracting attention.
Footage of a pizza delivery driver snaking through the crowds appeared on live television footage of the protests.
His apparent bravery earned him praise on Twitter.

4% of the population has gone from rags to riches. Those are basically lottery odds. It isn't proof of anything.

Again, show some evidence or else you're just spouting rhetoric. You've been asked to provide some evidence to back up your claims multiple times and you've yet to do it even once. Where is your evidence that class mobility is more statistically probable in the U.S. than say Canada, Sweden, or the U.K.?

I guess you just glossed over the part where I talked about comparing Scandinavian countries to capitalist countries of similar size and popularity, eh?

Oh good. This old, tired, racist, libertarian trope.

Hmmm...if only there was an example of a successful socialist country with a large, ethnically diverse population, and comparatively large land size, that had not only been involved in two World Wars but had actually lost them and since recovered to become one of biggest economic, cultural, and social powerhouses again.

Oh is this where I get to point out different countries in which capitalism has failed in various ways and you get to "no true Scotsman" the debate again?

Well that settles it. I guess it's a dead issue now and we can go back to caring about Clintons emails instead of the hundreds of other lies trump has told the public.

Good grief. Here you go:

Soviet-style socialism was a massive failure. I do not believe that the Soviet Union is a good economic or political model for the United States or Canada to emulate.

Happy? Can we start to discuss reasonable non-centrally-planned-economy proposals for government intervention in the economy now (like progressive income tax codes and a single payer healthcare model) in the economy now

They are what we used to call anarchists back in the day. They claim to be anti-fascist, but in reality they are anti-everything. They are like the alt-right, except they believe everyone should be a target instead of just people who aren't white.

See, antifa and alt-right are very close. The alt-right are unemployed, white-power fascists with half a brain and propensity for Oedipal or Electral love.
