Again, this should tell you how valuable a player he is to the Flames.

The Flames are not really in a position to offer anything. The organizational depth is not such that the team can toss away draft picks or prospects to save a 23 year old non-roster player. The best result would be one of Stajan, Bouma, Brouwer being poached, effectively giving the Flames a leg up cap-wise.

Losing Kulak would just suck all ways around and there isn't much anyone can do about it being the reality of the situation.

Cap space is nice but it would all depend on what they do with it...putting 5M in the owners pocket doesn't help the Flames

I've had Brouwer going in a tight race (maybe 25% chance) followed by Kulak, Shinkaruk, Chaisson, Bouma and maybe Stajan each at around 15%. Who knows...
Forgot about Engelland. Decent chance for him as well. Numbers don't add up...to hell with it.

It's times like this that the Flames tight-ship around media leaks really annoys me.

I wasn't a huge fan of the trade when it went down but I'm willing to be patient. Anyone who is brought in by this management gets the benefit of the doubt from me.

I assume they will buy Ken King a new pure gold, luxury bidet that sprays fresh ocean mist for his office.

Quite possible they looked at the lists for Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, saw a whole bunch of nope, and decided they'd rather have the negotiating window instead.

Seems like a waste of a couple pics but one must be Russell since they don't want anything else from Oilers.

Rick Dhaliwal @DhaliwalSportsBeen told Brendan Gaunce will NOT be taken by Vegas in expansion draft. #Canucks

Sekeres reported it was down to Gaunce and Sbisa, this news points to Sbisa being selected. Benning lucks out

Wouldnt Leipsic from Toronto be the other? or did they just pick him and haven't technically signed him?

They can't trade him to the Flames without picking him.
