I'd love to trade for a RW for the top line, but the only guy I think we could give up to get anything of value would be Backlund, and I don't want to trade Backlund. I have no idea how they're going to fix that hole. Chiasson is fine on the 4th line but he's not the answer there.

Send Tkachuk to London. This is gonna be a tough season in Calgary. Let his 2016/17 experience at least be winning experience. He is close, but he didn't quite show enough anyways IMO.

It goes both ways. Gio had a very clear, very blatant holding the stick penalty that didn't get called. Engelland should have had a high sticking penalty. And Bouma could of had a tripping call go against him.

The only people who believe the flames were the better team for the majority of this game was Ball and Hrudey. Sure we out hit and out shot the hawks but I cant think of a tough save Crawford had to make all night and off the top of my head I do not remember 1 legit tip or 1 time attempt. The hawks had too many to count.

Ill take the team with 15 shots and legitimate scoring chances over a easy night on 50 shots.

(and yes this is just me venting after hearing that all night long)

Perhaps bring in a real enforcer since the refs rarely call any infraction against John... I've lost count how many times I've thought he looked visibly pissed off after a missed call against him.

It's not the coaching staffs fault that the guys that are supposed to be our leaders have not showed.

Gio, Brodie, Monahan and Gaudreau have been bad all season.

The rest of the team was good tonight but really it was those guys that lost the team the game.

When Gaudreau loses the puck he just gives up, it's like he's thinking well I tried now it's up to someone else.

Why do people keep saying this? Their partners aren't the ones making mistakes. Gio and especially Brodie have played together this season and guess what? They looked terrible. Just like most games. Seems it's not the partners we need to worry about.

Engelland didn't get burnt wide neither did he get walked on the line.

It's about time they start making their partners better.

I disagree. Elliott has looked great 4 of his last 5 games, and outside of the Kane goal I don't think you can blame him for tonight. Top line has to score. That's the bottom line.

The top 4 players have been underwhelming to say the least.

The support players (especially Backlund and Frolik) have done their job, but if your top 2 forwards and top 2 d-men are not bringing it every night you're not going very far.

And the special teams are losing them games as well. Lots of things need to improve.

Thanks for the info - That's one bar I will never visit.

You know I can live with the bad call against Bennett ,but two blatant trips on Johhny , 1 that would've given us a 5 on 3 just piss me off

The PP looked much better tonight but 0 for 4 just doesn't cut it
watched a very determined team tonight and was impressed but as soon as they start to press they loose their frickin minds .

Yes. He wasn't coughing up the puck as much and made way better exits. He played better on the power play that in previous games.

Give Gio and Brodie more than a game or 2 to get it together and they will.

Absolutely England got burnt all night. It was his job to tie that guy up on the PK and his reaction tells me he knew it.
His pinch was laughable.... if you are going to make a risky pinch late in a game you better make an effort. He throws half his body into the play and leaves the boards for a easy dump out and then had little to no juice to get back. On the replay I believe he is the last guy back.
Watch Kanes goal and tell me Engelland looks like and NHL d man.

Guys making over 6 need to step it up huge. And Brodie. These guys are supposed to be the difference makers. They should be causing at least 1-2 goals/game between them. They're making a difference in the wrong direction.

Flames this season are reminding me of the Blue Jackets. Will work hard for stretches (getting those moral victories) only to come out tied or up one, then as soon as theres a chink in the armour or they let off the gas will concede a few goals the other way and often get blown out.

Should have focused on bringing in the right player during the off season instead of experimenting.
