Seriously?
Did you miss the part where he claimed it was solely Douggie's fault we missed the playoffs last year and that Stanley Cup winner Kelly Hrudey agreed with him / said exactly that on Hockey Night in Canada last Saturday?
That would be why he got so much flack.

Well they're not on the same level now and Hamilton has already done more and has a higher ceiling. Trouba is in a contract stalemate and rumored to be asking for 7+ mil which would be a bad contract for him, he also wants to be in the US.
The big thing is that there is no real reason to even want to trade Hamilton, he's playing well and helping the team.
Maybe the people who want to trade him want to start tanking already...

In all fairness he was getting flack before that comment.

I wonder if you were to get a panel of 10 nhl analysts and had each of their thoughts on a trouba for hamiton trade, what their thoughts would be. We know what the majority here think. But id like to see what professional scouts/analysts would think

Honestly though would it really matter at all? How many times do people rag on what the "insiders" say in articles/tweets/interviews.

By NHL analyst do you mean the media? The TV talking heads and journalists?
Not sure why you'd want to know that.

Wow this thread is like a nexus of terrible posters. Thank god im actually having the discipline to not read the ones on my ignore right now.
I can see why some people may be disappointed in Hamilton if they thought he was gonna be a franchise, top pairing dman, something I'm not sure he'll ever develop into. That said the discussion around Hamilton has been pretty face palm.

Offensively gifted young D with hockey IQ and size are highly coveted in the NHL.
Hamilton has those attributes in spades. Trouba, not so much.
Defensive play and tactics can be taught , with improvement accomplished, a lot easier than ameliorating offensive play.

Trouba isn't even on the same level as Hamilton, in any stat, in any way. This is hilarious.

I 100% disagree that Hamilton cost us the playoffs, and think it's completely unfair to say it was him, was he a small part of our collective collapse last year? Absolutely. But if you say that, you could blame half the other players on the team, because several started equally as slow. Our very biggest problem was the league-worst goaltending and the season's struggles all began and ended there, primarily.

Then by all means, stick with that shadow of a Bouwmeester who doesn't want to play for your team.

Hell if Bouwmeester put up 40 points as a Flame I would have been ecstatic.

Good players get traded all the time, why does everyone take trade suggestions to heart?

I think (some) Flames fans want to see what a 23 year old Hamilton can develop into beyond the 80ish game sample with the team so far.

I have been getting annoyed at CP lately as a lot of posters seem salty at others for starting threads they don't deem "worthy" however is this case I am going to be a hypocrite and call out the OP.
This is not thread worthy. Put your ridiculous trade proposals in the trade rumors forum.
