Carl Paladino, the co-chair for Donald Trump's campaign in New York, defended the Republican nominee's attacks on Khizr Khan, whose son died in Iraq in 2004, saying Khan doesn't deserve the title of a Gold Star parent because he's shown himself to be "anti-American" and may be a supporter of "the ISIS-type of attitude against America."

Trump is still in a pretty decent position if he can hold the Romney map. He's polling significantly better in Florida than he ever should be. He should down 10 and it's basically a statistical tie. Ohio too should not be as close as polling shows. Trump's problelm is the third piece to winning is Pennsylvania, and it appears that's now out of reach. At the same time remember 2012? Romney looked DOA at this point, then he smoked Obama in the first debate and went slightly ahead in the polls. Trump has a much bigger gap to make up than Romney ever had at this point in the race. In every single state Clinton is ahead of where Obama was at the same time with the exception of Ohio where she is tied with where he was.

I don't think the GOP can do anything about Trump other than pull a large chunk of the funding and put it towards other races to minimize the damage he's doing. They can't replace him without putting themselves in their own "it's rigged" quagmire. If he quits you know he won't quit quietly and he will proclaim he was forced to which brings it right back to "rigged!"

The time to do it was in the primaries where they could have coalesced around one guy not named Cruz or Trump. They didn't and now they have to write this election off. The establishment needs to wait it out and when it's a blow out wrestle control of the party back. They didn't learn anything from the Tea Party stuff and they are paying for it.

The "election observers" is why the GOP needs to remove Trump. He knows he's going to lose now so it's gonna be pedal to the floor on the insanity and riling up his supporters. So in losing he's going to create a toxic, paranoid atmosphere for his supporters, and that's probably not going to end well. Unfortunately he probably can't be directly blamed for it, as it's so rare any single act of violence can directly be explained by any one thing.

HRC is a terrible candidate. Up until DJT insulted the gold star family and the conventions the race was a tie or a 2-3 HRC lead. Despite ALL the BS that Trump said during the primaries it was still close until the end of July.

Had the GOP nominated a gentlemen (or woman) without any baggage this race would be heading in the Republican's direction.

The country wants change. Next summer, the GOP base will be pondering what they just did. They are about to make Hillary the second accidental Clinton president.
