The average republican voter is plain less intelligent than the average democratic voter, therefore Lying to them is a more effective tactic.
There has been some research to this effect. It is clear that the Democrats are now the party of the rich and sophisticated, however, until further notice, your place on the IQ scale has nothing to do with your value as a citizen, so less polarization is necessary.

LOL, such a good video. "Uuuuuuum, equal.". Just come out as an atheist Donald. Too bad his base wouldn't allow that.

I never said republicans were less valuable, just more stupid.
Of course they have value, how else are you going to fill all those trailer parks?
I think my favorite part of the Trump meltdown is how he's gone from the "tell it like it is" candidate to the "that's not what I meant/please interpret my comments some other way than like it is" candidate.
Reminder of this, the multiple times yesterday he was pushed to say something else and wouldn't. But now it's sarcasm lol....

This could be a Reagan/Carter level landslide even if the popular vote is relatively close.
Agreed. I know that some pundits (Nate Silver at 538 for one, who is way smarter than I am) disagree, but my feeling is that Trump needs to be ahead by about 4-5 in the popular vote in order to win the electoral college. I think Clinton has virtually a 273 EV firewall at current support levels.
Hillary is going to win states like California and Illinois and New York by huge margins, and Trump is going to win traditional red states by smaller than normal margins (see Utah). If Trump wins it's almost certainly a Bush situation of winning the electoral college, but losing the popular.

Hillary is also going to take Midwestern and southern states.
The election is still 3 months worth of Trump being exposed. It would.nit surprise me at all if Arizona, Penn, Ohio and Florida and Georgia all went for Hilary.
I don't see Trump's campaign as if it has been gathering momentum and I don't agree that Clinton has peaked early. I think Trump peaked during the primaries and Hillary will sometime during the debates.
I think Trump is basically an invention at this point of he said she said journalism. He is a false candidate. He is the expansion St. Louis blues going up against Toe Blake's Canadians.
Trump is still in a pretty decent position if he can hold the Romney map. He's polling significantly better in Florida than he ever should be. He should down 10 and it's basically a statistical tie. Ohio too should not be as close as polling shows. Trump's problelm is the third piece to winning is Pennsylvania, and it appears that's now out of reach. At the same time remember 2012? Romney looked DOA at this point, then he smoked Obama in the first debate and went slightly ahead in the polls. Now I don't expect Trump to deliver a great debate performance, but if Hillary bombs this race will tighten up, guaranteed.

I think the narrative of Romney ever being close to Obama is just that, narrative.
I think it is the same in this race to a more pronounced extent. Media outlets are bending over backwards to keep Trump looking legitimate. The longer he is out there by himself the worse this gets.
