So here's a fun one. This photo is racist says the internet:

Spoiler!

In case you're looking for a hooded kkk member or subtle confederate flag, don't waste your time. The racism is that the white girl is resting her arm on the black girl's head. You know, because black people are always propping up the whites and whites, even kids, know that black people are no better than arm rests.

Oh right, except that they sisters. Seriously, those two girls in the middle are sisters. But hey, when I've already unlocked the shed to gather my pitchfork there's gonna be a witch hunt, it doesn't matter what information comes to light after. Or how stupid the witch hunt was to begin with.

Naturally Gap has apologized and pulled the ad.

http://www.pymnts.com/news/retail/20...dly-racist-ad/

The funniest part is the Gap ran an almost identical ad in the past with a black teen resting his elbow on a smaller white kid's head. And nobody gave a crap.

This stuff really has got to the point of bizarre religious taboo, or totalitarian policing of ideological purity. Twenty years from now people are going to wonder what the heck got into our water supply.

Here's the first article I found describing the bus stop/gas station/restaurant. It's even got a picture of it. Looks like pretty much every typical Husky Restaurant/Gas bar you see along the road. With a 24hr Greyhound staffer.

Lanesha Gipson, a senior communications specialist for Greyhound, said the girls were never left alone, and that Greyhound personnel were in constant contact with them throughout the night.
The Valemount gas station/restaurant is a "24-hour facility with dedicated Greyhound personnel," Gipson told B.C. Almanac host Michelle Elliot.
In addition to dedicated terminals, Greyhound operates a number of what it calls "agencies" across the country, which are other businesses such as gas stations that sell tickets on Greyhound's behalf. Gipson said the Valemount location has a full-time Greyhound-associated attendant.

And this is how we wind up with stupid news “stories” and social media full of people spouting their faux outrage based on nothing but assumptions.

The one in Canmore was always behind the local convenience store, and at that time of night, everything would be closed. Many small towns are like that. Allow me to say, after getting more facts, that I do, indeed want to live on this planet.

It really GMG when the "terrible people doing terrible things" thread turns into a second GMG thread for people to complain about how much they know about racial inequality.

Generating it's own content etc. etc.

Every time you consume animal products, you're supporting this.

The music wasn't nearly sappy enough, they also need to take a page out of unicefs playbook and include some big brown eyes staring at you all sad like in slo-mo.

Bacon and eggs it is for breakfast. Thanks for affirming my love of meat products shogun.

I'm not sure it was a good choice to show a gross looking chicken when they showed all the happy, cute, alive animals at the end.

Either way, its always a good laugh when I'm told how evil we are in the livestock industry.

I thought we agreed this anti-yummy food crap would be limited to its own thread? Why is it popping up in multiple threads again?

Because people like you need to be reminded that your food choices do more harm than good. Billions of innocent animals are being tortured and slaughtered every year, and most people chose to ignore the realities what these animals go through. That makes me not want to live on this planet anymore.

Fine to have your beliefs, but do not push it on others.

From now on, for every post like this that you make, I am going to make it my personal duty to eat extra meat that night.

Tonight was going to be a simple chicken caesar salad. Now, thanks to you, I pulled a 15oz Ribeye out of the freezer.

Hope you're proud of yourself. Go ahead, keep it up, make my day.

I often lament about the ease of Internet access these days. I remember when you had to have some skills to be able to even set up something as basic as IRC on unix terminals, and you read email by connecting to the mail server through a unix shell.

There generally weren't a bunch of trolls on the internet back in the mid to late 90s. Then it became popular and easy to use.
It has been downhill since then.

But doesn't your body need animal meat?

Nope, and if you want to go through my post history finding quotes before I went vegan, I have no problem. I'm just happy I found the truth before I did more damage to my health and animals.

i encourage you spend your time researching about veganism rather than going through my post history and posting irrevleant information. This is the second time you tried to do this, and I feel bad for you.
