Yeah makes sense.

My 14 year old niece is terrible. She can't watch a whole movie without pulling out her phone to look about reviews, find out what else the actors have been in, and whatever other information there is. Then she gets side-tracked by looking up related things, to the point that she doesn't actually end up watching the movie.

Constant access to information is both addictive and exhausting.

Have you considered the possibility that she is an AI and Wikipedia is cloning itself into her physical memory?

Yeah, the fact that your phone is sitting right there can make it hard sometimes. Sometimes I find myself jump into the GT during a commercial of a game, and then end up reading a few other threads well after the commercial is over. I know I enjoy the game much more when I'm acutally engaged and watching the whole thing, but that phone can just eat your time sometimes. You try to fill 2 minutes (which is sad on its own) and it ends up taking 10 away, no problem.

I enjoy it, I just can't believe it is legal in the city. Infecting all your neighbors home with that stink. Not to mention people with breathing problems, asthma etc.

The day we completely legislate away gathering around a fire to spend time with each other is the day we have ceased to be human.

Well that's good because it'll never be completely legislated away. Only in crowded urban areas.

I read a write-up on a study a while ago that stated the use of open fires for cooking and heat is one of the major causes for low life-expectancy in impoverished parts of the world. Aside from just accidents and injuries, respiratory problems and cataracts were tied to using open fires.

I can't imagine not having a fire with a BBQ or a few beers now, so glad I'm not a city person any more.

Yeah, because there are millions of people all cooking on an open fire at once!

I wonder if these places were people cook over open fire and use it to heat their homes also have poor access to sanitation and medical care?
