I guess it also doesn't help that I often use my phone to stream via bluetooth which adds additional controls outside the phone and increases power usage.

I like my Fiio X3 gen 1 though. RIP Cowon S9 and J3.
Just checked my battery usage...maybe the app is wrong, but after about an hour of use, the MP3 player accounts for less than 1% of use.

omg yes.

The moment people here "Firepit" they lose their ####ing minds. I don't see what's fun about sitting around a fire, getting smoke in your face and smelling like crap after. I'd rather sit around a table where you don't have to deal with the stupid smoke.

Smart phones. Call me crusty. I use one - of course - probably to the point of excess, but I definitely feel that my productivity and personal life satisfaction have significantly deteriorated since I purchased my first one 3 summers ago.

Yup. They have a way of taking over.

I was a lifelong Blackberry man and I loved having a phone that did email, text, and calling. If I needed to check something out, I pop open a browser and check. A no nonsense phone.

My current S6 is an amazeballs phone. It basically does all my work without me even asking. But holy hell I find myself wasting time on it daily, and I hate that.

PS: Blackberry email function is still the best by far.

Yeah I can't disagree.

My wife, myself and my daughter are trying to leave them in a central place in the kitchen when we get home.

I miss the ability to argue for hours over a useless bit of information or trivia. Now everyone pulls their phone out and the answer is know.

Wretched devices. I have probably gone a bit too tin hat these days. I try to use a non-Google browser, limit personal information in emails, and turn off the geo-tracking feature.

Yeah, we're starting to do that now, too. It was getting out of control. At least summer is coming - when we hang out outside it's easier to forget about the phone.

I find it funny when people complain about people sitting on their phones while they're not doing anything besides watching TV.

I see it all. the. time.

Unlike you, normal people often invite people like myself and others for casual social interactions in their homes and vice versa.

So these people watch TV while you're over at their place? That's just as rude as staring a phone while you're socializing in person.

People like yourself? Or yourself? Is socializing some sort of hypothetical possibility?

Football re-runs 24/7. No wonder people check out.

Your friends never got together to just chill? Watch sports or a movie or something?

Hah, that's my favourite channel. My wife PVR'd it over Christmas and it's what comes on by default when we turn on the TV.

That doesn't happen much as you get older. We used to all the time even well into our 20s, but now if I'm going to watch TV I'd way rather do it at home. All my friends are the same that way (late 30s).
