With the awards tomorrow, and the draft around the corner, I think we should all go back and read the first few pages of this thread. It's a harsh reminder that you can never judge picks the day of the draft, and also good for a laugh. here are some of my favorite responses:

Don't really know either guy from Adam - but St Croix at 5'11 at 176 seems more promising than 5'6 at 137 and both are skilled guys.
FYI, St Croix looks like a washout, playing 59 games in the ECHL this past season.

Unfortunately, this doesn't fill me with much hope. He sounds a lot like a smaller Nigel Dawes (Which, if he becomes Dawes, is great. That'd be a steal at this point in the draft). Additionally concerning is how you keep enforcing the notion of him being good in close. At 137 lb, it's not likely he'll get that close unless he's got Lombardi-esc speed.
This one is my favorite as it dismisses a USHL fan raving about Johnny and reassuring us that he's actually very good and the main reason they won their national championship.
I wasn't here then but I think it's a bit weird that anyone would criticize a fourth round pick. That's exactly where you pick the high reward long shot prospects. Their skill keeps them out of the very last rounds, but their flaw (skating, attitude or in this case size) keeps them out of the top rounds.
Sorry if this has been discussed, but in case you missed it, there is a company making new hockey figures sold by clark toys. They are making a Gaudreau that ships in Sept. I have preordered two.

Good heads up, but their shipping to Calgary is 27$ US

Those action figures would always be a hot commodity when I worked at Jersey City. Never had the ones people wanted though.

Any idea if they are going to release any actual images of the items rather than what looks like a crappy 3d rendering? I know its only $20 but I'd rather not waste it on something junky looking.
