African Americans being handed nothing at best and actively obstructed from gains at worst, does not necessarily equate to all white people being handed everything without labour or effort. (There are dirt poor white people in the South too that I am sure aren't being handed jobs and mortgages by anyone). It's the whole "us versus them" angle that I reject, not the fact that racism is the core cause of poor economic mobility among African Americans.

The issues of racism can only be solved once both sides are united in fighting against it and I see those types of cartoons more divisive than unifying.

I'm assuming the "career criminal" is being prosecuted for murder?

Most riots so far are because the murderers in nearly all cases are not being prosecuted for murder.

You surely can't be so dense as to ignore that it's about injustice in nearly all cases.

Police came to a Florida residence after a woman being held hostage at knife point with her two children asked for help through the Pizza Hut app. Cops spent 20 minutes and talked him out peacefully.

My cynical side points out that the suspect in question is white, and I wonder if a black man in the same situation is given the same quarter. I don't know if he does.

He probably is. You could play the "what would have happened if he was black" game with any situation involving law enforcement... but all things being equal I have no reason to believe this would have ended differently had he been black.

Dorian Johnson, friend of Michael Brown who was with brown at the time of the shooting, announced through an attorney that he is suing the city of Ferguson and the Police Department emotional distress form that incident.

Also yesterday, Dorian Johnson was arrested for "interfering with an arrest and discarding suspected narcotics on the ground".....

It looks as if the cops in Baltimore have backed off and things have gone off the rails. Arrests down 56%, so far 38 homicides this month.
