I would rather talk about Flames prospects not Canucks prospects but thats just me I guess. Three AHL points? big whoop

Haha. Then why the hell did you come into a thread about a player that isn't a Flames prospect anymore? Just to say you don't care?
Haha

I do care that this is the biggest thread on CP at the moment, I think its ridiculous. Just imagine when Sven scores a 9th AHL goal!

If you care so much, don't make it bigger.

No really, it' swoosh.
Even Mama Sven called him out for his sulking. So, a handful of professional hockey execs AND HIS MOM publicly stated that he needs to man the F up.
On top of that he's a B-prospect, purely one-dimensional. He hasn't improved since draft day, perhaps even regressed. Remember who Ward compared him to? Go Google it, I can tell you that the Flames have done everything in their power to make this work from day 1. He lost it or wasn't that good to start with.
Go cheer for the Canucks if you like him that much. I'm happy he's gone, he and his defenders have annoyed me for a long time. Once this thread ends up on page 2 he will be long forgotten.

Why are you guys arguing about the Nike sign in a Sven thread?
I was hoping Sven would get it together as a Flame but now that he's a Canuck I hope that if he does succeed it's not with them. It's hard for me to see him progressing enough to earn a spot next year anyways but who knows...

It's weird that a guy who never kept tabs on Sven's totals before is now doing it when he's traded. Comes across as odd.
We don't need an ongoing Sven Baertschi thread on the main forum.

I noticed he has good vision and a good pass. He would be deadly passing to a pure scorer like Virtanen if they find chemistry like he did with Rattie.

I'm not surprised some posters have wanted to track his first couple games. That said, I doubt any constant tracking of other former players has taken place. No one posts regularly on JayBo or Cammalleri. Did anyone even note Glencross' goal?
So while a few posts on Sven's AHL games might be expected initially, I expect the tracking to dissipate after a while.

I don't think it's that weird to follow him a bit to see how he's doing, after being traded. Given how contentious the whole thing has been.

Yeah, a bit. That was my point. I expect it'll die down.
I wasn't here at the time Phaneuf was traded, so I assume there were a bunch of follow up posts tracking his points.

I look forward to following him on the Nucks roster next season. I don't view him as an NHL top 6 winger at this point, but considering Nucks management's comments, looks like that's where they'll play him. He won't have to earn it... Due to what they've traded for him, how they've sold him to their fan base, and his new waiver status, he's already a lock for that 2nd line LW spot.
Will be very interesting to see how he does, and if Desjardin keeps him there, or drops him to the bottom 6.

That season, Ian White was the best player in the trade, though the forwards were straight up dissappoints. It certainly didn't look like we won or lost the trade as Phaneuf just didn't have the impact he was supposed to bring. That said we did miss the playoffs that year so it wasn't a feel good story.

Nope, please share? Googling it doesn't yield any results.
