This has probably already been said...
Baertschi's downfall (in part) was due to his lack of size and physicality, Sven likely wouldn't have been part of the long term future of the Flames in the top six because of the fact he plays the same left wing position as Johnny Gaudreau.

They seem to play Utica every second damn game.

If he was 75% of the player Johnny Gaudreau is, he'd be the 2nd line LW. His downfall is between his ears, and fixing head cases is a job for other people.

For me, no weirder than a bunch of Flames who moved in after playing a helluva lot more games than Sven for the Flames.

Good for him. He is on his way to being a good AHL player.

Are we really gonna do this every time Sven gets a couple points in the AHL?

Granlund and Arnold each had a goal and an assist tonight - nobody talking about that

They didn't just get traded. It's ok and natural to want to know your "ex girlfriend" is doing. Not healthy maybe, but that's how she goes.
I'm genuinely curious how he's going to do with a fresh start and I'm sure others are as well.

If Granlund got traded to a rival for a 3rd round pick and Arnold for a 6th I would be the first to talk about them.

"Ex Girlfriend"? Sure, curiosity about your ex right after you break up makes sense. But keeping tabs on Sven is like stalking some chick you met on the dance floor and made out in bathroom with one night.

Huh? Checking a published box score to see how he did is the same as that? Umm, Ok. Sure

A crazy chick who gets mad and starts crying at you because you wouldn't tell her you love her after said one night. sometimes you're just better off regardless of how hot she was.

I don't buy this 'well he said he wasn't going to sign" business as an excuse for dumping him for a pick. They eroded his value and therefor shouldn't get the easy out. The Flames should have traded him for a similar struggling prospect needing a new environment, the team has enough picks in this draft that they would have been better off gambling on a player who is further along in the development cycle with a little more certainty than gambling at the draft.
