Bah. We played a better team and lost. Still 6 games left on this trip -- if we were going to lose one this was it. On to the next.

We NEED to rebound in a big way, though.
Problem is you can't count on teams to go into slumps to make the playoffs. All teams pick up their play from now on in and the Flames have wilted badly over the past week.

This was apparent to me 2. Its because of the the Rangers speed and it seems to always get us in trouble against fast teams. That one goal they scored on us was also a result of a speedy relentless forecheck on their part. Wideman wanted off and thats when players dont have it in them to make a play that requires a lot of energy. He needed an outlet.

Didn't matter about the odd reffing, flames were not going to score tonight. Just got to remember still at start of rebuild, no matter what the standings say. On nights like this it shows the lack of top 6 forward talent. First line was horrid and no true 2 nd line to pick up the pace. Flames can not be depending on Bouma to be the goal scorer if 1st line is playing like crap.

The officiating was terribly biased but there's no excuse to not be able to score a goal against a backup who couldn't stop a beach ball against the Canucks.

Getting tripped up is not an excuse?
Interference is not an excuse?

Heard of Nowak before, but never heard of any of those other guys. Pretty horrible crew overall.

Our 4th line should be the 2nd line tomorrow. That's all I know for sure coming out of this.

Next time read the whole sentence.

I said there's no excuse to not score a goal on Talbot.

I did.

It's hard to score a goal when you're getting tripped up.
It's hard to get a decent quality shot when one team is playing dirty and getting away with it while the other team is playing clean and getting penalized for it.

Talbot, hell it could be Leland Irving out there, when you're being prevented from playing hockey nothing else matters.

And while we've spent the last week throwing away our playoff chances, the Jets went up 3-1 on Dallas. Le sigh.

I'm as mad about the officiating as everyone else, but be honest dude. There were two embarrassingly blatant non-calls in New York's favour that might have changed the game, but that doesn't excuse the rest of the game where the Flames continually failed to gain pressure against a team that has been playing mediocre defence in front of a bad goaltender.

Another beautifully "managed" game by the officials.

No worries. The Canucks' collapse/regression will begin soon enough. The only threat to a Flames post-season is a Sharks resurgence.

The GOAT for this game is the flames organization.

WHY in the hell are you traveling the day before a game on a 7 game road trip.

I'm not an expert but I'm guessing New York must be around a 8 hour flight? You got a young team... Should have got there a day earlier and practiced today...

I think this explains how lethargic the team was tonight. Embarrassing.

When the pens came to Alberta they were in the province 2-3 days ahead of time... For gods sake.
