Or the other Rangers icing where they pretended the puck wasn't dropped fairly TWICE and gave the Rangers time to rest up. Very disappointed to see that unbelievably bad refereeing tonight.

I can deal with the outcome of a game when it's decided on an even surface. New York played well, but the fact of the matter is the Rangers should've had to kill off at least 2-3 Flames powerplays in the course of that game. That they didn't have to deal with even one in a game that was far from clean on their part, THAT pisses me right the hell off.

Rangers shut us down and made it look easy really.
Hopefully the Flames can get hot here, but I really think this trip is going to be the beginning of the end for any Flames 2015 playoff aspirations.

We're slipping fast. Not good. Although we have been in this position before.

Sucks. The 8 game skid earlier was on an Eastern road trip.

MLB and NFL would be my other sports. There is an attempt in those sports to properly define their rules and attempt to hold their officials accountable for calling it consistently.
The NHL encourages or at least does not discourage make up calls, different standards of penalties depending on the game situation, early season crackdowns and then letting them go as the season progresses... all sorts of crap like that. It just takes away from building a framework that rewards the best team. Not a comment about tonight's games, just about years of the NHL not attempting to get it right or make it right in some misguided attempt to make the game more entertaining. The same way they thing we want to see teams play for OT.

How about where Emile gets tripped for a penalty sho... nope, """"clean play"""""
Or the one where Kris russell is blatantly tripped and they decide whatshisface earned himself a scoring chance with that.

Ya, we're on the same page. How/why he missed the net is secondary to him pouting for the next minute.

And failing to take advantage of both the Rangers without Nash and the Penguins without Crosby/Malkin.
This team needs to show up at 7:00 not 9:00, or it will be a very long final 20 games.

Rangers played a perfect third on the Flames, and took advantage of the fact the refs were refraining from using their whistles by clogging up the neutral zone and getting in the Flames way of gaining any speed. Very pre-2006 trap style play there in the third and it worked cause the refs were calling the game like it was 2004.
Doesn't excuse the Flames, they have the speed to drive wide on most teams, but for some reason were relying on dumping and chasing, which just played right into the Rangers style tonight.
The refs enabled a style of game that made it difficult to come back in. Flames couldn't adapt to that style tonight.

Not over yet, but the Flames sure picked the wrong time to go cold, while the other teams in the race are red hot and showing no signs of slowing. No question the Flames need to find another gear for the rest of this road trip if they want a hope in hell of staying in the race.

On a cooler note, if we expected there would be no 0-2-1 stretches over the remainder of the season back when we were playing well and winning, we would've been kidding ourselves.
LA, Minnesota and Vancouver will all have their own lulls before it's all said and done.
We NEED to rebound in a big way, though.

Aren't the Eastern teams supposed to be a walk in the park? Why are we getting destroyed by them? Only decent run against them was when we played Washington and Florida back in November. We've been getting annihilated since then.

Hartley should have played the Poirier, Ferland and Granlund line a lot more than he did. It is back-to-back games after all and they could have provided some energy to the team.
