How so? Prior to that game were they continously being outshot...often giving up 35+ shots a game and being outshot by a 2-1 margin.

Give me the numbers showing the big change like I have given. Just curious to see this change because I don't watch a lot of Flames games.

Against Florida - 6 goals against. Against Vancouver - zero goals against.

In my first post I said it was too soon to know for sure, but in the first 3 games there is an undeniable change to the team. That's it.
Visually, they are better

How long until Leafs fans and brass realize that it wasn't all Carlyle's fault? They are kind of like a better version of the Oilers. Not quite as no good as the team that patented the phrase but compared to the rest of the league no good indeed.

So much for limiting the shots I guess.

The Leafs are averaging 30 shots against in their last three games.

They are also giving up 3 goals per game and scoring 0.333 in that time.

Leafs now have 0.400 points % and 3.4 GA/G in 5 games under Horachuk (compared to 1.125% and 3.025 under Carlyle). Also 1.0 GF/g compared to just over 3 under Carlyle.

But they are keeping the shots down. Except against San Jose.

And most teams normally get a good bump in the first couple weeks after firing a coach.

Small sample size stats are kind of fun when they help prove t=ng.

I liked how after allowing 40 shots by SJ they blamed the loss on puck luck.

Since you posted this silliness...

Phaneuf has played 69 minutes, has no points and is -4....in 3 games.

Letang has played 46 minutes has 4 pts and is +1.....in 2 games.

This kind of comparison can go on regularly and just shows how much you are missing the mark if you believe that Phaneuf is anywhere close to Letang in quality of player.

Letang is a bonafide #1 Dman no matter where he plays.

But they have that bonafide (better than Letang) #1 Dman leading them....mind you he is once again the minute leader and has managed no points and another negative in +/- (giving him nadda for points and a -5 in the last 4 games, but i digress)...but its all good in Toronto

Erik Staal is owning Phaneuf all over the ice tonight. LOL

There was talk Erik would get Gordie Howe hat trick, but scored the last goal, as opposed to assisting it.

What's the opposite of a Gordie Howe Hat Trick?

a "DiOn"?
getting beat up, and being the reason for having two goals against from that same player?

Kessel has 2 points and is a -10 in 9 games. O and those 2 points came in one game. Spark the trade rumors

@longleysunsport: Three jersey tossers were removed from ACC. Two charged by police with "public mischief." #Leafs
