So if Flames are that predictable, why aren't they getting blown out? Why are they in games till the bitter end, basically night in and night out?

"free walk"
Where did you have this team before the season started? they are far ahead of expectations again not sure what you were expecting.
Go watch the bottom 5 teams, they are getting blown out often not losing tight games

Hard to pull him in favour of Luongo when on the second of a back-to-back Montoya has a lead for most of the game. When Montoya gave up a lead, the Flames reciprocated by playing terribly in their own zone and letting one in 30 seconds later.
To my eye, this loss sits with Hiller primarily.

They would have a better chance than if he plays like that tomorrow.

This loss stings even more looking ahead and seeing we play in a place we don't win in tomorrow on a back to back, then another long 5 day break where others around the Flames will get points. Flames could easily be looking at being at least six points out of 8th by the time they play next. Ugh.

I think the point should be they played the Panthers backstopped by Al Montoya, scored 5 and couldn't win, not who they played Wednesday or will play tomorrow night.

They are not getting blown out, but teams realize they can control a game and very likely win it, (Unless for a bunch of late goals) by playing a certain style.
The Flames don't lose or win a blowout style.

The Flames have been on par/worse then the bottom 5 teams over the past while.
Not saying we are as bad, but it could be getting to that point.

Dude I was just about to post the same thing about the goaltending. There were multiple awful goals given up by both goalies. The Brian Campbell goal was one of the worst goals I have seen in a long long time. Well on to the next one, still love the compete in the group, but we need some more consistency. Go flames!

Worst defensive game I've seen from this team all year, and they basically just threw away 2 points considering the goalie we played tonight. And holy crap, Hiller was awful. Easily his worst game as a Flame. The team was playing so well defensively early in the season. What happened to these guys?
And now you look at this road trip we have coming up...yikes. Needless to say, tomorrow's game against the 'Nucks is huge. Just get the 2 points and all will be forgiven for tonight's debacle.

All sorts of blame to go around.
Hiller: not good.
Flames defensive game: not good.
Special teams: not good.
It's how bad teams lose; not that I think the Flames are a bad team, but they lost like a bad team tonight. They are a young team and it is easy to see them get rattled or get into a mode that they can't get themselves out of.
Frustrating as a fan, but there is still a lot of good things about this team, so just move on.

okay Lou can't play because he played last night...but a guy who just lived the movie "plains trains and automobiles" and is still an AHL goalie should go in
sounds legit

Mason Raymond is a weird case. He seemed to fight the puck constantly, unable to even get it to stay flat on the ice. He's throwing passes all over the place, and especially when he destroyed a power play opportunity all by himself. But suddenly, right after an offensive zone faceoff, it was damn near impossible to knock the puck away from him, like it was glued to his stick like some kind of world beater. What the heck is going on with that guy?

Wow, top end stuff.
I never said they would finish in the bottom 5. (I think its possible though)
They have however been playing like a bottom 5 team. 11 losses in 15 games is bottom 5.

Oilers lost 19 of 20...its obvious the only people left are the usual Doom and Gloom (pun intended)
so I am out...nobody on this team is getting a pass, vets in the AHL, lots of guys that won't be back
deep breath, year two of rebuild

There is nothing truculent about this team.
This team lacks emotion right now. Lack of focus and lack of engagement in the game.
Get McGrattan off of waivers and put him in the gd lineup.
