The Isles take on too much contract. Bailey and Reinhart makes more sense.

Instead of a constant stream of garbage like this, why don't you post something to add to the conversation?
For instance... maybe your opinion of a fair return?

4 outta his 5 posts were asking the same question, sounds like he was just frustrated people refused to answer.

Except there were about a half dozen posts about what the return would look like, by comparison to similar trades and in various proposals.

Poor Taylor Hall... Work your arse off as a kid to get drafted 1st overall and then end up in that circus up North. No Flames fan deserves such a fate.
It would take a serious package to acquire him. Start with Bollig, Engelland, Stajan and work from there. Even that might not be enough to get er done.

Paying that cost for Hall would totally sabotage our rebuild.

He's living the dream of a Flames' fan. He gets paid $6M per year to sabotage the Oilers from the inside.

Oilers trade Hall, RNH, and Yakupov for Seguin, Landeskog, and Murray.

I already said in the thread I thought a package centered around the Islander prospects (Strome, Reinhart) or something like the proposed Philly offer around Coburn Schenn/Couturier was fair. The Bobby Ryan deal is close but I think Hall has more value than Ryan. That good enough for you?
MOD EDIT: Removed inappropriate comment.

lol... and you're trying to claim that I'm getting emotional? Ok then.
Anyways, ignoring your insults and petty outbursts, I agree that the Philly deal is in the ballpark. I don't think the Islanders would consider Strome and Reinhart, but Reinhart + somebody solid also has the makings of a deal.

I think the best deal for the Oilers is one where they grab the type of veteran talents they are missing and make a cap hurting team a deal that helps their future as well. I'm thinking Hall, Yakupov and Nurse for Seabrook, Sharp, Teravainen and Johns. Chicago gets three long term pieces that will help their cap. Edmonton gets two vets that will make a difference in the dressing room and a couple of kids with good potential and character. I see this as a win-win for both teams in the near and long term.

Hawks may or may not want to do that, but Sharp has an NMC, Seabrook an NTC. There's waiving because you know you're not in the team's plans...but this isn't that scenario with the state the Oilers are in, with Lowe and all his slimy tricks which probably all in the PA are well aware of.

Hall's value IMO is a serviceable top 6 complimentary player, a top 4 dman and a 1st and a 2nd/B level prospect. From Calgary (not that they'd ever move him to us) it would look something like Brodie+Backlund+Reinhart+1st. Maybe instead of a 1st, it could be a 2nd. Sounds expensive, sure but I'd be really surprised if he went for much less than that. That's me trying to be as fair as I possibly can to both sides. For the record I like Hall, I think he'd be considered a top 10 player in the game right now had Boston drafted him.

Brodie+Backlund+2nd
might be closer to fair value.
but Brodie+Backlund+Reinhart+1st??? not close IMO, I straight up just don't think Hall is that exceptional, plus a winger to boot.

I wouldn't do Brodie straight up.
If it was the Hall right out of junior I would pay heavy for him. The Hall of today is lazy, makes dumb plays and has a long contract. He scores a lot of points but he is a train wreck in his own end.

Hard to believe they managed to get the top pick wrong 3 straight years. They'd be so much scarier with the latter 3.

If you believe Brodie is a true top 2 defensemen, you don't trade him for Hall.
