In this case, there doesn't seem to be any other motivation for someone to make up testimony to give in a grand jury case that could result in first degree murder charges.

Witness testimony is really an interest topic. In law school we did a little reading about it and how so many factors can result in completely false and inaccurate witness statements. The people aren't lying. They truly believe what they are saying, but for a variety of reasons, they are simply inaccurate.
In this case I think there was a bevy of truthful and accurate, truthful and inaccurate and lying witnesses.

I don't understand why the police are escalating this. Just stand there, hold the line, you knew this was going to happen, let it fizzle instead of pouring gas on it.
This has to be the dumbest police department in North America.

if you are talking about eyewitness statements...no they don't think they are lying...but those type of statements are notoriously incorrect and in this case many were proven completely wrong according to what the DA said.

You could hear on the live stream: "Stop throwing objects at the police. You will be arrested." Barricades were immediately overturned and protestors are attempting to flip over police cars and have started fires. All according to CTV reporters. If true, I'm not sure the police are the ones escalating things.

There were gunshots fired towards them apparently...if so I cant blame them. Dispersing that crowd had to be job 1 at that point.

I know that eye witnesses are not always reliable. I was just responding to the guy calling them liars because he was a white cop.
