A big thanks to everyone here for the great reporting. It's great to be able to watch some of the new and previously drafted kids all the way from Sydney.

Such a vast improvement in the Flames prospect system from only a few years ago.

Didn't manage to catch them this year; is there a video of the whole scrimmages online somewhere? Would love to watch the game.

Yeah, I'll be leaving the house a bit earlier today, should be there around 9:30 or so.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Of the invitees to development camp, the #Flames will bring Jason Fram back to rookie camp in September. Deciding on a few others too.

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
For those concerned. Pat Sieloff is fine after taking a puck off the foot yesterday. No injury concern. #Flames

Roger Millions @RogMillions
Best bit of news at #Flames summer camp. Emile Poirier ahead of schedule after shoulder surgery. Will have mid august check up.

Roger Millions @RogMillions
If Poirier checks out. He still could skate at training camp. Strong AHL playoff in April. Kid has big potential for #Flames.

What are your thoughts on McDonald, jg? Worth the 34th OA?

McDonald looked like an 18-year-old goaltender. He is big and quick and can make some spectacular saves but he is raw and misses some easy ones. He also looked really nervous, which isn't much of a surprise given the circumstances.

He could be great, he just doesn't look spectacular now. I think he was worth the 34th overall because the draft was a total gamble after about 15th overall.

Johnny Gaudreau looks NHL ready. That's about all that needs to be said. If he continues to perform at NHL training camp in September the way he has performed in college, the world juniors, the world championships, and development camps... he will make the team.

Now that's not to say I would be surprised or disappointed if the Flames put him in Adirondack for awhile, but I can almost guarantee that, barring an injury (knock on wood), Gaudreau is in the NHL by the end of the season.

I wonder how much of this camp is for getting a look at goaltenders? Sounds like they may be putting in All-Star game type efforts, as no one wants them giving 100% on a save and potentially hurting themselves. No?

Yeah I don't think goalies were a big focus. Last thing you need as a goaltender is to blow a knee in July.

Yeah I think I'm going to take some time off work and go to the Young Stars tourney in Penticton with my brother... I've always wanted to go but never have.

@AAVickers: Best quote of camp came today from Treliving on Wolf: “He's like a walking fridge. He's a big guy.” #Flames
