I really wish they would stop saying on Fan960 that there is a session this afternoon. You would think that at the station that covers the Flames, someone could read the development camp schedule. I've sent them multiple messages.

I think this may have been discussed a bit earlier but does anyone know what the major differences are between the different franchise rookie camps?
I read that the avalanche don't even have skating, it's just a big welcome session to teach them about everything they need to know about how to get to the NHL and what it's like and stuff. Do most organizations have very different ways of doing it?

Treliving said he wants to cut down the time for the Flames one going forward. Wouldn't surprise me if don't go on the ice at all next year (or very limited as he was basically saying he'd rather have guys training to peak for training camp rather than here. Obviously the issue would be finding undrafted rookies like Gio or Jooris last year.

IMO that would seriously suck for fans and seems unwise for the Flames.

I think it's awesome that we have a camp where so many good young talents are impressing. Counter that with the Edmonton camp going on at the same time. The only player supposedly standing out and causing conversation is Nurse. Very reminiscent of the dark days of the Flames when we had no prospects and little depth in the organization. Nice to have a real future staring us in the face. Hasn't been this way in a couple of decades.
