Well considering I'm a woman, I'm pretty unlikely to end up spending much time in a men's lockerroom. Maybe, just maybe, a woman has some insight into the BS that women have to deal with on a daily basis due to misogyny.

No one is saying that all men hate women. But regardless of that--all women deal with misogyny in one way or another. I've been really lucky to avoid any sexual assault and overt harassment. But I'm a manager at my place of business--as a 30 year old woman--and I deal with constant, virulent disrespect from a 67 year old man because he's a good old boy who refuses to imagine that I have anything to offer because I'm of the fairer sex.

As for the rest: I'm a colorist/hair stylist. I wear makeup and jewelry and dresses and heels. And I just had a date last night, as a matter of fact. Not every feminist fits into a simple stereotype.

That's really long-winded way of saying "Say it to my face, bro!"

Well that's the thing about keeping it in a locker room and not in front of the women. Women don't have to deal with it. Honestly this was a pretty lighthearted discussion until about page 6 when rubecube insinuated we were all 40 year old losers and hijacked this thread with his self-righteous act.

Is your argument actually that misogyny is cool, just don't whip it out in front of the ladies?

The group I tied to foolishly reason with sure did believe it. That conversation was bleeding over into this forum which I shouldn't have done. Everyone has had difficulties in their life and every day life. Talk to most men with kids about misandry after divorce and she how they're discriminated against. It's how you handle it in life that defines us.

There is nothing wrong with approaching a woman and asking for her number. If she says no then walk away. Most women, and you may not be one of them, like confident men who can ask this simple question. I have no problems approaching women, being funny or cute and then asking for her number. It's closing the sale, she bought me as much as I bought her, unless it's a wrong number which has happened.

What is your point? "Have you met a rugby woman?" And then you post a picture of women in the scrum wearing mouth guards. I'd just like you to spell it out for me - what's the message you're trying to convey?

I just want everyone to know that this thread has been a delight.

And by delight I mean everyone should take a hot shower.

Actually I said they should accept they will "die alone"

I didn't wish death on them, but you were probably too busy being alpha and putting shame to all those boys with the realness of your manhood to bother reading.

It's cool bro, alpha on.

What is it, exactly, that you're keeping in the locker room, away from our delicate and easily enraged feminist ears?

Can someone point me to where this started going south? I'm not quite sure what happened here.

Guy talk. You know the same as what a bunch of women talk about in a group setting. Let's not pretend that you guys don't have discussions about men that aren't flattering to us.

Alright, maybe I'm just confused by your definition of locker room talk. I played enough sports growing up that I'm fairly familiar with most of it. I don't really have a problem with guys busting each other's balls or talking about the girls they've slept with, etc. However, stuff like slut-shaming, body image crap, and rape jokes are definitely misogynist in nature.

Anyways, I had one or two posts in mind when I originally made the lame comment and some people decided I was making an indictment on the entire thread, which really wasn't the case, and it snowballed from there.

You said this thread was "boys being boys" "like in the locker room". Sorry but this thread is full of misogyny. And locker room or not, doesn't make it ok to dehumanize and objectify women just because they aren't within earshot. So I'm just clarifying what exactly it is you're trying to justify with the whole "boys being boys" BS.

Rape jokes? What the hell is wrong with you. I haven't been in any groups that thought that was remotely funny. Honestly do people actually joke about that stuff?

I don't want to get into this much, but the MRA folks who blame misandry for the the way they're treated in divorce proceedings need to do a better job at realizing just how much our social constructions of masculinity have put them in the positions they are.

I guess we can agree to disagree as I really haven't seen many spiteful posts that I would consider hateful towards the opposite sex. You know it's okay that we don't share the same viewpoint right? Boys being boys doesn't include rape talk or talking about women like they are all whores. Maybe I have been fortunate to not hang in groups of men that hate women and treat rape like it's fine because I just don't see where this talk is coming from.
