This management team with a young bright GM building a top young team is pretty damn exciting.
I loved his comment that he will not make trades so we get 3 more points in November or 1 more win, just to scratch in. We are building to win championships.

This was exactly what he said which made me immediately think "this guy gets it" !!

I'll be cautious about this hire. I wish the best for him, but I really wanted Burke to stay as GM.

If the Canucks hired him, yeah I'd question hiring the guy who has little experience but they are two different situations. We have an experienced President to guide him while the Canucks have a rookie President who could use a GM with experience.

Easily the absolute worst thing I've ever heard or seen. How that video/song even made it to the light of day is beyond this old-ish man. Avril firmly planked herself into immortal suckitude.

Brad Treliving certainly does have a passion for his work. The main quotes I could find when looking into him earlier this week were to do with his work ethic and dedication to the job.
I like Brad's pedigree in business for several reasons. He knows what it takes to run a huge business in Western Canada. He knows how professional leagues work because he used to own and run one. He has many years of experience as a GM in the AHL and he's been an NHL AGM for long enough to know how the NHL works. In addition I like his connection to Hockey Canada.
Great hire!

The main problem I have with this hire is simply, what has he proven when it comes to making winning moves? Giving a guy a GM job where he grows into it I'm not sure is a good move. An established guy who's hardnosed like Burke wouldn't be messed with when it comes to negotiating with GM's and agents, but on that issue we'll see. An established vet wouldn't go through growing pains, but also wouldn't really bring in new ideas. At the end of the day we'll see, but I don't think it's great. It would have been nice to see if Shero or someone along those lines would have been available this off-season.

List the number of GM's that fit your bill and are contrary to Burke's description of what he wants as the Flames GM. There's not many available....

It was the best of wings, it was the worst of wings.
I swore after eating wings at an Edmonton BP I'd never try them again. But there were pretty damned good in Vancouver.

That's because the only thing going through Don Maloney's head is an echo from the empty space between his ears. His moves this year were extremely questionable and I think he took orders from his coach rather then vice versa.
Now, to selfishly hope that this hiring somehow ends in Radim Vrbata signing in Calgary.
