I wanted Burkie to be the GM but I'm open minded to Treliving. Much better than McPhee or Nieuynedyk

Great hire, looking forward to see what he does with the boys, happy that Nonis will come nowhere near Calgary.

No, not a "negative" poster so much as the resident narcissist.

Craig Custance @CraigCustance 44s Was traveling when the news broke but love the hire of Brad Treliving by the Flames. Relentless worker, great talent evaluator.

Patrick Burke is anticipating his quid pro quo...

If I understand how these things work, I'm about to become a very important pizza executive.

So, this is quite different in that we are around 60'ish days to the draft with Junior playoffs still ongoing. It's likely that Phoenix advised their scouting staff to be careful with what they would share with Treliving as early as last week as they would have needed to grant permission for him to interview with the Flames.
It's a bit weird that Dallas prohibited Button from first round involvement back in that first year. I guess he could have moved back to get another pick to help him get in front of Dallas with the Flames 2nd rounded to deny Dallas two players that they felt they had a shot at.

I'm so jealous of the Avs seeing what MacKinnon is doing in Colorado. Wish we had a young superstar kid like that. Monahan is going to be good, but he he's not gonna be a franchise changer.

Maybe but most people have a bit of narcissism in them and it's actually healthy to an extent.

Guy has paid his dues and with Burke there as a mentor then the GM does not also have to be an older established GM. So the hire itself is alright. Not just to see if he can handle the move up.

Craig Button was probably in over his head as NHL GM but at the time the there were a lot of internal power struggles within the organization and I'm sure he didn't have near the resources and support that Treliving is going to have.

Yeah, and I never will again. There's a reason they aren't a burger joint. They are gross.
Their super expensive pizza is awesome though. Rustic Italian? Hell yeah....
