Yep, I remember the hate even began to flow before it even became official Winnipeg was getting another team. Can't really blame Jets fans for bringing up positive things on here to make the haters look silly.
What has anyone done to make the "haters" look silly?
Bumping that Canadian team ranking thread every time the Jets were on a winning streak had nothing to do with positive and showing the haters.
Nothing that whiteout /coke machine/the U/GoJetsGo posts is positive.
The constant say you love us, agree we're awesome posts aren't positive things showing the "haters."
The fact the you are labeled a "hater" if you don't massage the pathetic Jets fans ego shows why they are so obnoxious.

I've lived in both cities, and Winnipeg is actually way nicer during the (admittedly fairly short) summer. It's hotter, greener, the Folk Fest is absolutely amazing, there's nothing as big as the Stampede, but there's always something small and cool going on.
I have nothing against the Jets as a team on the ice. They're not great, or even good, but there's nothing dirty or distasteful about them.
Their fans are still excited about their shiny new team. There's good Jets fans and lousy Jets fans, but there's really nothing to make them stand out as being worse than any other Canadian market.
I really like the Jets jersey, especially their home threads.
And I really like the fact that they're having a go at playing in a small Canadian market, despite everyone saying it wouldn't work. Maybe everyone was right, maybe everyone was wrong, but I can't look at them and say "You brought NHL hockey back to a small hockey-mad city on the Canadian prairies. That sucks."
In short, Winnipeg has some positive attributes.

The haters thought all of their UFAs would leave and all of their RFAs would asked to be traded because Winnipeg is a -1000 degree Hell on Earth and no player would want to live there. They also said that after the first batch that they would have trouble getting season ticket holders to renew. So yeah, I would say the haters are looking a bit silly whether they want to admit to it or not.

In 2012-13, I never once bumped the Canadian rankings after each Jets win. If you go back to that thread and look, it was in the middle and end of the month, regardless of how the Jets were doing. In fact, from March 31, 2012 onwards, it was always the middle and last day of the month. So after March 2012, it was chronological, and had nothing to do with how the Jets fared.
I may have done it early in the Jets first year (2011-12), but for the majority of the thread, it should be evident that I only posted on certain dates that had nothing to do with the performance of the Jets. It's a few haters, who keep the myth alive, that the records were only posted after a Jets winning streak.

What a bunch of bologna. The Flames and Jets were going back and forth in the standings and the only time you bumped the thread with rankings is when the Jets pulled ahead by a point or two. You conveniently forgot to bump the thread when the Flames jumped ahead.

Look, it doesn't bother me the least that Winnipeg haters rag on how horrible Winnipeg is, how the Jets will move in 5 years, etc. It's when certain posters deliberately lie about something like the thread in question.
I've been a good sport about posters, who for whatever reason, hate the Jets, and I respect their opinion. Dumping on Winnipeg, the city, the people, etc. is all fun and games. Just don't make stuff up. The onus is on you now to prove me wrong about what I had said about the thread in question.
You cannot just call BS, you need to substantiate it with facts to disprove of what I have said. I've provided you with a link to the thread. Now prove me wrong.

Loool thanks for proving my point. Read your own thread.

I'm not sure why you keep on saying I proved your point. This is what I had said:

I've asked you to prove me wrong, and you have failed to do that. Unfortunately, unless you can accomplish this, I will just have to move on...
A lot of people in this thread are getting worked up over nothing. Holding grudges against Jets fans because they bring up silly facts like season ticket renewal rates is asinine. As soon as Winnipeg beats us in the playoffs or turns into a diving spectacle a la Canucks then we have a reason to hate them. Until then, just let it go.
Pointless thread. I've got more reason to hate Ottawa than the Jets, after seeing them taking runs at our boys. I'll wait until some sort of rivalry develops.

Yeah, all of CP and a mod called you out for no reason
This should be the no one cares about Winnipeg thread. I sometimes forget they are even the Western Conference this year.
I guess Calgary had a rivalry with the original Jets in the 80s but I'm not old enough to remember that. My memories of hockey in Winnipeg can be summed up as follows:
-They trade away all their good players, don't lose to Detroit too badly in the playoffs, then move to Phoenix.
-They finally get a team back, unfortunately it is the Thrashers and they suck. The GM keeps all the Atlanta players and a few years later they still suck.
Yeah, all of CP and a mod called you out for no reason
You have failed to prove what I have asked, and keep diverting the subject. I'll just move on, since you keep avoiding the question I had asked of you.

What question? That you didn't update the thread after each and every single Jets win? Yeah, congrats on widening the goal posts so far to make yourself feel better. You never updated the thread after each win but you did update the thread when the Jets conveniently passed the Flames. Reading the thread link you posted proves that and several dozen posters including a mod called you out on that.

This thread has none of the charm and humour the Edmonton and Vancouver threads have, put a lock on it until we have something to hate the Jets about, like a nice best of 7 series or a good ol' fashioned SlapShot style punch up.. 'til then this has been reduced to semantics..
