Just to complete the collection. I'm hoping this can pick up some steam like the other two threads have.

1. Nobody half decent wants to play for the Jets because..... well... Winnipeg.
2. Their fans are getting to Canucks territory of annoying (starting pointless threads on rival boards)
3. It's winter 10 months of the year there and there are no parks.

Winnipeg is no good.

Winnipeg isn't "no good." Winnipeg isn't even on the radar. No one cares about Winnipeg to even worry whether they are good or not.

But I support the general feeling behind this thread. It's kind of ridiculous how much validation and attention Jets fans constantly need at every turn.

IMO Winnipeg is fair game for one of these. Canadian Prairie/Western team, playing in the same conference and there is some back history and rivalry. Good lord, people need to stop their belly aching over the Jets.

Now to be honest, I'd love to see a Jets vs. Flames playoff round series in a few years. I think it would be a pretty entertaining and heated rivalry.

Except the Jets would have to make the playoffs some day for that to happen.... we know the odds of that ever happening.

I don't see how this thread is necessary for Winnipeg. They just got back into the league and are not rivals of ours at all. They aren't in our division and I'm sure the majority of Flames fans don't give 2 craps whether Winnipeg succeeds or not (I for one wouldn't mind them having success and sticking around for a while this time around).

Most flames fans hate the Oilers and Canucks with a passions which is why those threads build up steam and make for a great discussion. Winnipeg is not worthy of our time.

Yea I got nothing against Winnipeg. We're starting to get really petty and pathetic in here if we're going to deride every other Canadian fan base. It stops at Van and Edm for me, and Edm I'm starting to feel sorry for I don't think anyone deserves that management group.

I have nothing against Winnipeg... Players like Ladd, Bogo, Wheeler, Trouba, etc. are all respectable. There is no divisional hate either.

Vancouver is no good
Edmonton is Edmonton... (lowest of the low)

Winnipeg is OK in my books.

Why would you feel sorry for them? They've had every oppurtunity to make things better and have failed miserably!! I feel that Edmonton is getting what they deserve...nothing, they deserve nothing. Coiler fans need to quit riding on the coattails of Gretzky and Messier already. They will end up with another top 3 pick this year and it won't matter who they pick, they will be awful anyway.

This thread should just be "nobody cares about Winnipeg". Would be more fitting, if we're going to take a jab at them.

They have some fairly delusional fans that I've seen, though. Many were convinced that they were a playoff team in the west this season (hmmm). Middle of the road team, and will be like that for some time until they're willing to throw big money at some real players that can help them break out. But definitely not good enough yet to compete in playoffs in the more difficult western conference.

Being a Flames fan from Manitoba I've never understood why Flames fans should hate Winnipeg so much. I've always disliked the Oilers and Canucks but never gave a #### about the Jets.

I come to CalgaryPuck for all of my NHL news, not just the Calgary Flames. I don't know why everyone has to jump on the OP right away. You don't have to be a fan of a team to be interested in what is going on in other markets.
