Last night's 8-1 loss to the Flames officially eliminated the Oilers from the playoffs. (Sports clubstats.com)

I wonder if Eakins is beyond the point of no return as far as having the room goes.

Think he said "let it go"

Cherry on top of the cake. I recall Iginla's 52nd goal 11 years ago, eliminated the Oilers out the playoffs as well in Rectal with a few games to go.

1 fluke run with some scrubs in 2006 is the only playoff experience since 2001. And the Oilers would likely have been better off not to make the playoffs in 2006. Pronger had wanted out since Christmas so that wouldn't have changed (cementing the slimy nature of Lowe that has made that franchise an undesirable destination since) but McTavish didn't have his option picked up, and then cashed in after the run.

Plugs like Pisani and Horcoff got paid 3x their value, and Lowe and his ego and visions of grandeur, thought he was a peice away from it all, and made decisions accordingly.

The Flames clowning of the Greasers 8-1 simply shut up Hrudey. What a complete domination over who CBC seems to think is only a couple payers away. Eakins should get a 10 year contract he is perfect for these overhyped Greasers

MacTavish has a face that screams "punch me"

Harvey would be the first to line up

That's sweet. This game is right up there, but my alltime favourite beat-down of the Coilers was the 9-3 rout the Flames laid on them in the spring of '86.

The BOA was so intense then, and the Coil were so smug on their way to the President's Trophy, when Bob Johnson's team blew them away as he unleashed his "system" that would later beat them in the playoffs.

I actually feel kind of sorry for him. Coaching Edmonton was the worst career decision for him.

Dude isn't really a coach, he seems just a suit on the bench. No one on that bench respects him except Hartley and BoringSean

I think this was the game sather got booted out , Otto and semenko went toe to toe at centre ice and gretzky was at his whinny finest. Absolutely the best game I've ever been to.

And rookie d-man Gary Suter cemented his Calder trophy by setting up 6 goals in that game.

Haha.

End of the day Hartley is getting a ton out of this cast of players. And feaster deserves more credit.

I kept getting the goal alerts on my phone from the GameCenter app. 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, etc.

I was like wth is going on? I watched the game on GameCenter and it was a beaut. I agree with the poster who said that the Losers aren't actually tanking -- they're just this bad.

Kudos to all the Flames who had great games.
