The puck hit Rask in the back doesn't that nullify the high stick?

Fast pace thus far - lots of skating. Duchene looking good with Perry/Getzlaf.

No, can't be directed into the net with a highstick.

Can't hit it with a highstick and then have it go off the goalie's glove, for example.

Isn't the definition of high stick mean that it has to go directly in to the net or touched by a teammate/yourself?

Does the goalie touching it technically count as negating the high stick or does he have to have possession?

in international hockey they need control of the puck to nullify the high stick

Nope. If you bat a puck off the goalie and in with a high stick, it's still no goal.

Besides, the puck was stopped on top of the net. If the referee is on the ball, the play should have been blown dead regardless.

all depends what camera angle(s) they have upstairs. From a couple angles it looked like he touched it.

I will agree that it shouldn't count but from what I saw he didn't touch the puck hence unless there is rule against hitting the net to put it in...

Also the puck was right at the cross bar so I don't think it was a high stick.

The call was probably that the play should have been dead when it rested on top.

I like the looks of the Benn-Crosby-Bergeron line so far. Hope they get to stick together.
