Apparently Oilers wanted Fucale.

this really is a stupid exercise just one year after the draft. They haven't even played in the NHL yet, why already re-rank them? Makes sense three years after a draft, but not after one year IMO

Has anyone re-entered the draft due to going unsigned by their club, similar to what happened to Matt Lombardi way back when? Anyone to look out for?

Chicago is ruthless. They won't regret trading Bolland though, Stan Bowman knows what he's doing.

Similar to the reason you rank them before the draft? Fans want to know how their prospects are doing.

Wow! Thanks for the Stanley Cup winning goal Dave Bolland. Oh and you're traded to Toronto.

Where was Jankowski ranked before he was picked? 30+?

i think there are a few ways of parsing this;
1) it should not be a one to one comparison of Jankowski to Teravainen, as Sieloff was a part of the trade and; 2) the team that gets the best player in a trade is the winner.

jury is still out for now, even tho it doesn't appear to be as big a reach as it did during the draft.

I wonder where Lehkonen will go. Really dynamic smaller forward who has suffered some head injuries.

Not sure where the other two guys were ranked before the draft, but Jankowski moved up a full 20 spots based on one year of NCAA play on a bad team. Not to mention he was one of the youngest players drafted, if not THE youngest.

I would call that significant improvement.

EDIT: If ISS had Jankowski at 55, then the fact that Hockey News ranked him at 21 a year later is pretty big.

Highlights of the draft:

Sean Monahan is a Flame
Morgan Klimchuck is a Flame
We didn't trade any first rounders

The oilers miss out on Schneider, Bolland, and Fucale

I fully agree, that is also when age difference really matters. When they say he would be a top ten in the next draft, grab him early and let him develop for the year
