In the past 5 drafts, the players drafted #1, 2, or 3 who didn't make the NHL team next year were:
- Erik Gudbranson
- Jonathan Huberdeau
- Ryan Murray

Of those, only Huberdeau was a big surprise to me. Columbus rebuilt their back end and gave Murray time to develop to his reasonably safe cap, while I have never been a fan of Gudbranson.
Not really true about Murray. The lockout coupled with a season ending shoulder injury is why he's not in the NHL. If he didn't have the injury, maybe he's in the NHL.

Add Barkov to that list, maybe Monahan too.

And Nichushkin if you remove the KHL contract from consideration.

Also found funny that Terry Jones tweeted about how the Flames were now only 3 back and says "dive, dive dive". Would be more funny if it weren't for the fact the coilers really do seem to think this way.....every year.

It was the highlight of the year for me seeing our star less line up full of our in expensive AHL players beat the Oilers mega millionare hype club.

Max Reinhart looks like someone that is going to have to be given serious consideration for making the Flames next season. Flames make sure you give him #23 like he wants to wear for his pops.

Any by all accounts, Ristolainen is NHL-ready.

Yes agreed. Would love to see him in Flames silks but he will be gone after the first seven I am guessing.

After seeing Oil Change today where at the end they showed the Oilers 8-2 win with all of the smirks on the Oilers bench and in their dressing room, its only more satisfying that the Flames did such a great job of crushing their hopes and eating their dreams.

Also where Tambellini does nothing at the deadline except picking up a scrub and then smirking and talking about how he doesn't need to make changes to the Oilers.

Toot Toot join us on the fail train.

I'd say that's unlikely. He could easily be available in the teens.

It is time to go for Tambellini but the Oilers and the press have missed the point that the guy that needs to ultimately take the bullet is Kevin Lowe, but there's no way that KAtz will let one of his her's go.

Haven't watched Rasmus much but my sense is that a player like him is likely to go mid first round at the earliest.
