Times change. JBO was the best D-man available going into the deadline. Old man Reggie just got 2 2nd round picks. Negotiations are not Feasters strogn suit.

Jay Bouwmeester is still -11 on the season.

Sure he may be the best defenseman this season on the 2nd worst defensive team in the NHL.

Saving almost 7 million in cap in a year that team will be forced to cut cap in the offseason is exactly where a rebuiling team wants to be.

It is a 1st, 2 spects, and 1 or 2 FA's we can get with the savings

So the Flames dropped 13.68 in salary cap.

Is this going to be saving money for the owners to spend later? Or is there some motive to be taking on picks and salary anchors at the deadline?

So we get a 1st no matter what right? If they miss this year it is a 2014 pick, if they make it it's a 2013? The guy who tweeted that is legit?

We lost almost 7 mil in cap space and got an extra first rounder.

I don't like the return but SERIOUSLY, stop having such high expectations and people won't be disappointed.

I am indifferent right now as Bouwmeester is not someone you build around and we got some value for him.

Next up is Kipper, Tanguay and Cammalleri

Well they are already going to pick in the top 3 I'm guessing.

The insistence of our owners likely cost the Flames a quality prospect like Rattie.

Bouwmeester is a good player that just never panned out here.

Only in this shortened season is he starting to show some promise...
3-4 years and 2-3 coaches too late.

I don't hate the guy but it is time for a change.

Take the first round pick and run...hope the prospects pan out as well.

Awesome!
we have so many quality 5 foot forwards, let's see how 5 foot defenders do too!

i kid i kid. how many hard to play against gritty dmen does a team need anyways, what the flames need are more puck moving, good skating dmen, who can't work the boards, can't clear the front of the net, and are scared to hit.

I am thrilled.

Anyone actually seen either of the prospects?

Or is just the popular thing to pile on with ignorance of either player?
