Bartkowski is one of Bostons top defense prospects, and Koko is a small center with a ton of upside. Plus a first. Only time will tell if this is a good deal or a terrible one....or even the actual deal.
a 24-year old is NOT a prospect

I think whatever the return is, we should all look to the positives of the situations. We are all iginla fans here, and we should be happy. Whatever team gets him will already be a contender and will have an improved chance in that capacity with iginla in their lineup. That's a positive in a season where it looked like iginla might wind up on a last place team.
The other, overwhelming positive is that we are all Flames fans. It's good to move on. Whatever the return for iginla, it will be a good trade because it will allow the franchise to finally begin the process of improving. It will be rough in the short term, but it is necessary to go through the valleys to get to the high summits, and we can finally look forward to new, different and hopefully equally compelling players in the future.
I am hopeful AC will have been holding back his iginla videos in preparation for this moment, but if not, I am sure we'll have them for futures trips down memory lane.
If it happens today or tomorrow, regardless of the return, it's a good move, and the team that gets him will certainly have an expanded fan base willing them to victory come playoff time.
Whatever the return, let's be patient. It will be worth it.

Another Butler and a small forward... that sounds familiar.
God damn it

Return is appropriate, people's expectations for a diminishing ufa was too high
Khokhlachev is the only part of this deal with any value. The pick is likely only 5 spots (if that) ahead of the pick we gave to Montreal, and players like Bartkowski are regularly available on waivers.
Awful if true. This stinks of Byron and Butler all over again.
What the hell were people expecting to get for a 35 yr old UFA? I know what Iggy means to Calgary but this is actually not a bad return. Koko is going to be a beauty.
I feel like I'm going to be sick with all of this talk. Very bittersweet.
I think the hours leading up to the potential trade without all of the pieces known and verified is premature. Even if the speculated pieces are the resulting ones involved, I think I have to take a wait and see until at least next training camp before I can start to judge this. I just down't know enough about players and prospects outside the Flames organization, let alone within it.
Bruins may only have Iggy for a little over a month at minimum. Considering that, they're not going to sell the whole entire house to get him. For a rental player, getting two young piece and a 1st is what you should expect to get.
